A Croat here! Andy is kind of correct about the ić stuff. Basically ić would be male for something "smaller". Like if you imagine an object and a smaller version of it would have an -ić at the end. But basically most surnames end with -ić because their ancestors used to be recognized by one thing (a job, place where they lived etc.) but not all surnames are on -ić since throughout history we mixed a lot with Germans, Italians etc

PAŠA used to be a title for noblemen in Ottoman conquered Croatian land so Pašalić's surname probably comes from his far ancestor who was nobleman

We speak Croatian and womens surnames also end in "ić". no difference there. In Slovakian language if someone is called Modrić, women version would be Modrićova or something like that. We dont have that in Croatia tho. Btw not all of our surnames end in ić 🤣🤣 Merry Christmas everyone

Some several countries adopt that name difference with the masculine and feminine. Males from Iceland have Son and females have dottir. For example. Sigurdson = son of sigurd and if he had a sister she would be called Sigurddottir = daughter of sigurd

International trophys should not count in these debates over best player, if we end up having a debate over Mbappe and Haaland, how is it fair to compare international trophies, one is from France the other from Norway.

I'm from Serbia(we also use ić)it's like in surname it's name of your ancestors like what they used to be called or what they did + ić there is no female version of it it's just ić

I'm Bosnian(close to Croatia) and -ic is like the male diminutive suffix, "For example, Mornar, which means sailor, becomes Mornarić, which means child of a sailor." this is explained on google for anyone that wants to check. I have a lot of ancestors with ic at the end of their last name.

I’ve always been a Ronaldo over Messi guy but there is no disputing that Messi is better now but with that being said I still prefer Ronaldo

Croatia originated from Serbia and so did their surnames, so they are the same and then there is Bosnia where a lot of it changed to Muslim so you have some that end in -ić and some that are completely different

in my opinion messi is 100% the better player especially statistically wise but to be fair to ronaldo he is much better at certain things like long shots, pens, headers, etc, and messi is also better at certain things like dribbling and passing etc,so it's kind of hard to compare them as whos better since they're both better at different things but if you're talking about who had a better career i don't think anyone can say ronaldo had a better career than messi since messi beats him in almost everything, so it kind of depends on what you classify as better, but yes messi is better

no one going to mention Andy being a complete snake and not telling kirbz hes picked abedi pele and not icon pele?? no? Had kirbz not realised that wouldve changed his picks for the next round.

Another interesting fact is that in the build up to mbappé's third goal- France's corner that fell to him which lead to Montiel's hand ball- the ball came off the hand of a French player and fell to mbappé which VAR didn't spot
