Is this any use against CPU, or will they just close you down really quickly? Also, to keep it simple, is it just a case of rolling the LS rather than going via the centre, and occasionally using LB to back away when under pressure, or have I misunderstood?

the trick is that player speed is affected by the amount you push the stick. If you push your stick part way, you can still do the quick side to side movements. The problem is that its hard under pressure to achieve this

Passing football until the game gets fed up and sends a 5 yard pass for a throw in. Feels like you get punished for playing too much quick play. By the 3rd first time pass I've to worry about my players turning into bronzes.

The live game play with the controller is super awesome

Yeah this accelerate mechanic only works in new gen. Also, i would consider engine for Ronaldo (cr7 i presume) for better agility than hunter.

What camera settings are you using?

Is dribbling better on ps5 version after patch? I gave up on it much prefered ps4 version

i can't speak for every specific player, but i felt a very significant difference when playing with ronaldinho. He has his own animation set and also own skill moves. If you dribble with him like you explained, you can also use the flicking the left stick to different directions like you mentioned before. Ronaldinho is an absoulte beast, i really like him. But i only got him as a limited player for 20 games :( he is super expensive, i will probably never get him :( The other difference i found is just the size of players. In my opinion, i you have a bigger player and you make a l1 dribbling and then release to a explosive sprint boost, bigger players will be faster. I haven't tested very small players yet, because the good small players like messi are too expensive for me :D But in general, i think it is not just dribbling what matters. It is the combination of dribbling, agility, ball control and reaction. Many players have high dribbling but lack in the other stats. I always try to give them chemistry styles to even all stats out on a very high value. this helps alot i think. By the way: Both binary and boolean are correct in his context. binary means 0 or 1 and boolean true or false. But what you wanted to say is, it is digital and not analog. Digital means it has one value, like on or off, and analog means, it can have a value how much it is on or off :D

Passing is so dumb in this game, I had a free teammate in the box to score and I lob it over, tell me why the cross went backwards to my other teammate in the half field? I was so pissed

The game is more realistic fair enough but I do miss doing everyone with a player

Yeah, do this and the game allows the defender to tackle through your player from behind or your player stumbles and you lose the ball

I learn all this on my own over a couple years of just playing the game

I enjoy all your videos. You dont really cover analog sprint in this video. I find dribbling with analog sprint is amazing in beating defenders in the game if used right, my players always seems to take just the right touch past the defender and I can weave in and out between defenders

I do but its too complicated for the average player to do, but importantly it dosent fix the issue of taking a touch to keep the ball safe

When someones playing aggressive defensively and are a good player it seems impossible to get past them this year with how bad the dribbling is without skill moves :(

Dude for reals! I've played over 50 rivals matches and I've only won 4!!! Passing is so shit and crossing and lobbed through passes are almost impossible. Everything is so slow and thiers 0 chem that helps out your stamina.

I notice you almost never press the sprint button?

I think we never reached a point like this in soccer games. Fifa and PES keep getting worse year after year. Both games reached the bottom

FIFA used to be such an immersive game in the early 2000’s to early-mid 2010’s. It sucks to see how FIFA was quickly & blatantly ruined & disfigured. EA literally jumped at EVERY single opportunity to maximise profits even though they knew they would have to sacrifice the fun, fluid & immersive experience that FIFA offered long ago. They knew that football fans would still buy the game every bloody year, even if it wasn’t fun and contained a plethora of bugs, broken & repetitive mechanics and 100000 ways to spend all of your life-savings in the quickest way possible. Truly criminal.

Neal I’m completely sure you’re doing a great job.. But to be honest this fifa 23 is wrecked simple passing isn’t working also the same with dribbling why would they change the whole mechanism each year to make the game worse I’m trying to find my play style that I used to but I can’t it is so annoying man .. The missed up the whole game

I’m really struggling , I started ok, but my AI just don’t move , they react slow , and they go to intercept pass that’s close to them then pull foot away for Ball to carry through, they are so slow on ball, Yet my opponent super quick and fluent, I’d changed from virgin to bt and my problems are still here, Any ideas anyone , I try all you’re tips and nothing helps

What are your controller settings? Sometimes having certain things like contextual dribbling on suck ass and makes it feel slow. Or ironically, trying to play too quickly

I've seen aot of dribbling videos but I don't find it that complicated. Just like any other game (basketball, football, hockey) when you move fluid and realistic your auer moves more efficient. That's the point of simulation games.

You can't dribble whilst sprinting. Your body momentum doesn't let you turn. So you can never really hold R2 and left stick at same time
