Field Station: Dinosaurs is an awesome outdoor dinosaur themed park in Leonia, NJ. It's a perfect day trip for NYC kids, or any kids who live in the area. There is little shade so go on an overcast day or wear a hat. (There is also another location in Kansas). The park is made of paths that navigate you through the woods and along activities where you can see full-size, animatronic dinosaurs. We loved the memory game, excavating experience, a show, a maze, jump zone and food.
We first went when our daughter was around 5 and she LOVED it. This visit she is 12 and still loved it. It's best designed for families with children between the ages of three and eleven.
