DC so glad you put safety first when working on the equipment, I lost my Dad on 12/5/83 he was welding on a tractor with the bucket up and a spark hit the hydraulic hose and the bucket came down and crushed him to death! I watch Cole too and he's all about safety first , hope he got that from you😊

think on this if you light up your feilds then till them the nutrients from the chaft will return in to the soil quicker and you wont need row cleaners to push the chaf out of the way in the spring and the only thing that would afect the planter is the roots

I'm with you on oil changes. My van has twenty thousand miles or two years oil changes I just can't leave it in that long. It gets once a year change that's about eight thousand miles and every other change a flush. I know our john deere tractors had long oil changes but only with the long life oil I used good oil but not long life oil and did 150 hour changes. And a good groan helps everything as you get older especially getting off the floor, I'm sure 10 years ago the floor wasn't as far down as it is now. Love your videos.

When the manufacturar of the Skidsteer says 500h oilchange intervals its 500h. There is absolutely no need for undercutting it even below 50% of this intervalss^^ This machine is made für hervy dirt and constructions work with lot of full throttle hours in one week. The load you put on it is rather lightweight with it. I am allways impressed of the short oilchange intervals in amerika. Every else in the world the intervalls are way way longer. After breaking in there is Definetely no need for changing oil in this short cycles if the manufacturer says otherwise.

I know what you are saying daddy cornstar about following oil change intervals because most auto companies are saying 10,000 miles I think that’s nuts on new cars I change 1 st time at 1000 miles to get all impurities out than every 3000 miles there after

DC - ranchers in the plains periodically burn their pastures to enable stronger re-growth of native grasses. Would a controlled burn of the left over corn stalks enrich your soil? Have Cole keep track of yield in that area that burned by comparison to the surrounding area.

Hey DC - for a non farmer like myself , can you explain why you need so many different tractors? I know you need several for the type of operation you have but couldn’t you just have one that fits all needs ? Or do all the them serve a particular purpose? I would thing from a maintenance perspective, it would be easier to have them all the same. Keep up the great work.

  • @ProblemChild-xk7ix

It takes several, people operating tractors at the same time during planting and harvest seasons to complete the work that must be done in the available time. You only have so long to get the seeds in the ground and to harvest your crop. One machine means you can farm far fewer acres.
