I'm so glad to have found this video. I have a Strauch carder and when I take off my bat there's ALWAYS a lot of wool left on the drum. I thought it must be so I'm doing wrong. However I see how much was left behind on your carder, I feel better seeing this thank you.

Thanks for this video! New to wool and the process. Doing some raw wool on my louet jr carder and getting a lot of bits on my licker-in and was googling why. Came across this video and it was very precise and understandable in explaining woolin vs worsted!!! Thank you thank you. Your bat looks like what i keep getting vs most of the rest of the videos i find are using their carders to blend their milled bats (which look nothing like my off the sheep raw wool!!!).

I've been trying to get my drums perfectly aligned - i thought the teeth weren't supposed to touch but i guess not since i hear yours do touch. any tips on how to get them the perfect distance apart?

Thank you. I had thought that drum carders were only for woolen prep. I spin and wear worsted. I have several fleeces in my craft room. Hmm. Christmas!

Helene L To further enable you, I’ve seen videos where the fiber is dizzed off the carder to make roving.

How much wool can be carded using drum carder per hour?

Does the tension band do a figure eight? Or not...I cannot see that side of the carder.
