Fiber Optic Cable drop Install +metal pole attachment

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

short drop to a local church. couldn't finish the drop because the 3/4" mast wouldn't fit the drop with existing lines in place.
will likely be back to finish on the day of the install.

Great job with your videos. I admire your skill and obvious experience. Once you got the fiber to the mast on the roof of the church, how did you get it (the new fiber) down to the telcom room?

When the installer tech showed up he pulled out the coax line to fit the fiber. They had multiple phone lines so the copper had to stay.

Great video. Do you ever have issues with your p clamps loosening up? I usually have to tap mine with my side cutters to tighten up the slide.

No with these they’re designed specifically for flat drops. I’ve had it happen once or twice on long spans over 100m. Usually the silver ones people have problems with because they aren’t designed for 1/2F flat drops

@@FyBurz Yea, when I got fiber installed last October, the tech looped it at the house and then rolled the rest up about 40 -50 feet to the pole and he just used tape. After he left I went to both locations and installed 5/16th extra heavy zip ties. I knew the tape idea wouldn't hold as long as I wanted it to.

Never work near hydro like that man I know sometimes we gotta run some sketchy drops but I had a coworker die that’s way last year. Not worth the risk always stay 4ft away

Where am I near hydro? You realize all telecom strand is within reach of hydro. If you’re talking about in the mast. That’s secondary power that’s insulated, and protocol states anchoring 12” below
