Philippines used to be a top tier country in Asia in 1950s, but they are having a hard time now. If Philippines want to regain its glory, the people should be honest first, and be honest to every single thing! If their people still scream 'the referees are brought by China' against the fact, I will be very pessimistic on their future. They would be dwarfed by all the other south east Asian countries.

From the very start I know it was China who will win the game, because the players are tall and young and experienced but then I noticed that the ref's are bias. It pissed me off. 1.Referee cannot shoot the ball for you 2.Playing DIRTY is not equal to playing tough. 3.no one can guard No.6 Allen Guo. After all, the real pathetic thing is, a country who really love basketball but not into an appropriate basketball system, so many kids that playing in the ragged street with no shoes, the country rather want to pay money to those planned foreign players who are not having the national pride, the basketball association should review them-self before blaming on the external reason, so are the fans, if you really watch the whole game , the referee has so many bad calls on both side and looked back to the 2013 FIBA semi final , there are bad calls to Korea as well, lost a game is not afraid compare to lose your mind.

Why most people ignore the objective comments and focus on fighting those ridiculous arguments? Be cool! It is just a game! To be honest, do you really think Philippines could win the game against this China team? Didn't you see the preivous games they played? They are the most talented and hard working Chinese players since 2008. Of course, Philippines has done a great job this year, but it is difficult to against the team whose players are 7 years younger and 8cm taller in average than you. And that's the final game, lose or win, it is not a shame. If you dont feel well with the referees, and you believe there are cheatings behind the game, please ask your PBA to collect the related evidences and submit them to FIBA. Blessing Philippines and China, and look forward to watching the next game between them.

Where were the bad calls which made it 8 vs 5? The refs made mistakes for both sides. The Chinese player got hit in the face at 7:43, and the refs missed the reach-in foul. It was hard to spot though. Also in 22:13, I don't think it was a foul by the Chinese player. He wasn't moving, and the Philippine player spun around, and they barely touched. For the Philippines, they were wrongly called for the foul at 6:35. If anything, it was YiJian Lian who fouled. Same thing at 20:58. where the Chinese player got free throws even though the Philippine defender was boxing out and in perfect position. Those 4 instances are the only ones in this quarter. There is more for the rest of the game. Point more out if there are other bad decisions I missed. But those are the ones I saw. All I am saying is that the referees were bad for both sides. I don't see the "cooking" or "bribing" or "made in China" officiating which made the game so unfair. The Philippine side had a size disadvantage, plus Blatche, who is their largest player wasn't even in the paint and was playing at the perimeter. My instinct when I watched the whole game was that the refs were pretty bad, and admittedly at times bad for the Philippines. But the mistakes were two-sided. I will watch it again to make sure. If I really did miss all the calls you guys are complaining, then I will change my mind. But from what I saw, China was better in terms of size, and it showed on offensive rebounds, and the inability for the Philippines to score inside. Please don't include political issues or arguments, history, geography, drugs or racial stereotypes in this. If there is a complaint, it should be on the basketball game. Bring those issues up, but I don't think it's good for anyone to be called trash here. Patriotism is good, but racism isn't. Let's just talk about basketball.

Well I think most of the people who are arguing about this game does not play basketball at all or even if they do they have not played with International players at all. Oh now we are talking about the momentum, earlier we are talking about the rules itself, and to answer your question yes I am playing basketball, I am a 4 year captain ball of our school basketball team. I've played with Chinese players as well when I was in college, I can't say that I am a Professional basketball player. but I am an experienced one. And just to tell you one thing about Basketball, momentum is not the key to winning, It is the chemistry, Let me ask the same question you asked me, are you an analyst? Well It seems like you pinpointed lot of things than me.Again Irony bounds. I just said something on how they play by the rules. Eat your breakfast already, you still have to go to school.

Honestly, I don't see there's big problem with the referees. But I do see some big problems in the Philippines team, like 1. huge mismatch in transitional differences; 2. weak 3 points guarding, especially on the weak side area; and 3. lack of variety attacking plays (all I can see is 1. isolating Blatche; 2. Guards cut in and out; 3. Guards drive in and shoot). And as far as I can observe, those Philippines players are very hot blooded, lack of patience to run offensive plays. They might have good skills, but their basketball IQ are relatively low.

22:23 what about this call? Li Gen didn't move at all as Romeo made the spin move. The refs did have some bad calls against both teams then they tried to recover it afterwards. As for the call of Zhou Qi hitting Norwood's face (I don't think its on purpose), the refs called a travel on Yi Jianlian right after he touched the ball. 10 seconds later Guo Ailun was called a foul for blocking out Abueva for the rebound. And also remember the blacking foul called on No.4 of team China when Jason Castro elbowed him? If the refs were as biased as you guys said, that one would've been called on the Gilas team. You know this kind of things happened all the time on the basketball court. When two team played tough with fast pace its hard for refs to see what happened instantaneously. So they watch the replay and recover it in the next play. And btw, Chinese team had 24 fouls at the end of the game while the Gilas had 27. Its not like they had only the half of your amount. This is what happened when your opponents have 3 7 footers attacking the paint area all the time while you have only 1. They take the rebound and draw fouls. Its that simple.

i am a filipino but i must say that the philippine team is mostly bark and no bite. They look intimidating but they are mostly soft mofos. when the chinese play defence it is a thing of beauty. stop whinging it was a relatively fair game. just try to build a team with fundamentals and leave the flashy bits to streetball.

What's the chaos all about people! Be open minded guys! Lets look the game into a wider perspective. Naturally, the citizens from the opposing teams would react so who should win blah blah blah. Each one of course favors his/her homeland. Each will search for loopholes/defense/insults/etc of the opposing side. And with a basketball game creates a wider exchange of offensive words and personals. Both teams are really strong and both deserves to win. But on the Philippines side, there are many "unfair" treatments prior to the game that was done to them as to various missed calls in-game which i say are Very Basic Calls. Thats the reason why Filipino netizens burst into flaming emotions which I say is natural. But what is wrong is saying that Philippines should have won, we cant still predict what will happen if it was an even fight. But the result would have been much cleaner and clearer in our minds if those mistreatments did not happen. China may won, Phil may won. But what makes the win "unworthy" to people's mind are the issues that goes behind it. Fair talk.

We're talking about sports, why meddle with international disputes such as lands.. I understand the problem but please don't include such topics when it comes to sports..

Look at Philippine team Blatche, he got lots opportunities shooting, but he hardly go them in. He was the only tall guy in the team, he should block well like the way China team did, but he didn't ! we should blame Blatche.

Let's admit it guys. Team PH missed alot of 3pts and FT shots. These are the main shots that are needed to beat tall opponents. There may be bad calls given to us by the referees yet it is not an excuse to miss our shots. Also, we failed to defend China's shooters. Anyhow, still a good job for making it to finals. #PUSO

Why are so many Filipinos complaining? Bad calls went both ways...did you not watch the game?

i think the philippine team lost their temper and just shoot without realising there is a lot of pressure on them. therefore missing some precious shots that could have been a game changer. Sports are suppose to be a game that actually brings each other closer, not a game where each country argues over each other

yes china is a better team but philippines have talents to upset them. you cannot win when you have the momentum and the referees will make bad calls. dare to tell me that the calls are fair... china is a better team and the calls are on their side how can you win??
