I’ve just bought one and the driver side window doesn’t open but the other side opens but the light doesn’t work on the right side window button either, any clue what it could be?

Hi, thanks for this video. I literally went through the same process as you, including forgetting to plug the unit back into the door - even after watching you do it! Anyway, the wife's car's all sorted now, so thanks for the information.

can you take the plastic cover off the connector to get to the pins? mines broke right near the pin so need to somehow get this out to then repair it.

Yes the connector can be depinned but usually requires a special depinning tool. Have a look on the internet and you'll see what I mean. You may have something lying around that will do the job.

legend mines just drivers side switch only dose pasenger side when it feels like it.

Great video, one of my windows would work and then not, now both don’t 😂 I don’t have the tools/confidence to do this. Do you know how much a local garage should charge?

Thanks, I would expect a garage to charge between an hour and 2 hours per side. Depending on the labour rate it could be anywhere from £120 to £250. If you have confirmed this as the issue then you could phone or go into your local garage for a quote. Hope this helps.

@@Papa77sGarage as i drove home from work i jiggled the switch and it started working, so thats good. now i can find out where the issue is in peace. it's a shame driving a car with plastic bags for windows haha :)

I think with more and more electrical components being fitted too doors of vehicles and it requiring more and more wiring this is becoming more of a regular repair I see and I just want too add that I hate repairing wiring I normally get second hand wiring harness if there available also prevents needing to breath in the fumes from the soldering I know it’s not lead based anymore but anything we can avoid breathing in is better for us

I agree, I've seen 4 year old Corsas with tailgate wiring that has broken like this. Only problem with them is all the wires are black so a new loom gets fitted. Could not be bothered trying to figure out which one goes where. Haha. I hate electrical faults all together, probably my weakest point when it comes to repairing vehicles.

@@Papa77sGarage and just to add about Vauxhall’s wiring I love Vauxhall for there idea of every wire being black it makes every wiring job so fun 😂 but I’m the same I just replace the wiring from one plug too the other that’s if I bother taking the job in I pick and choose my work these days

It's a punto I never had luck with one of them, had a gearbox wrecked on one 😞

It's funny you say that, the guy I bought it off also had to put a gearbox in this one. At least it's had a new clutch. Hopefully. If the job was done properly 🤦

@@seandean8293 I didn't. I got a quote of £45 an hour just to get the car looked at, no guarantees of a fix, so I'm still shopping round!

@@joelho8619 you could get any apprentice electrician to do this, easy job really if this is definitely the problem. Good luck!
