    I've just bought one of these quite recently, the same colour as the light purple car featured right at the end of the vid. I test drove a couple back in my late twenties, and the happy thoughts of them has just stayed with me ever since..:) I'll get it fixed up for next autumn 2024, as the car is a project that needs some positive energy and life slowly breathing back into it.

    Proud owner of a 20VT in yellow. Brought joy everytime I drove the car. Nimble, fun, rare. My only complaint...visibility provided by the headlight is rather poor.

    LOTS of panels/funnels missing in the front there, the IC one is important for cooling/power & the undertray for high speed stability, cooling, rust here & there and… Yes as You now know - for belts protection 😊

    Great video - I'm hooked again 😳🤔😀👍 Save the blue one, a bit of TLC and it deserves to be saved after doing those sorts of miles✌️💜😊 I nearly bought one back in the day - I had money then although it was right at the top of my budget😳🙄🤕 - I still rate them, on the day I test drove the Barchetta too, superb car (I've owned MK1 MR2 T-Bar and driven MX5s, owned race tuned AH Sprites, Midgets, MGBs etc), I was torn. I needed a daily commuter, 3 hours a day, the servicing requirements for the cam belts etc put me off. We'd run Fiat vans though and they hardly missed a beat. So wish I'd bought one😕🙄✌️💜

    I’ve had potentially 10 of these now since the early 2000’s until this year. I used to love these as my mate Roger ran Power Fiat/Italia in Essex. I always took super care of mine cars, and they were rust free. My top pics; My black one owner 20VT LE I bought from some huge man who busted up the Recaros big time My Ink Black 20VT Plus I actually walked away from at £3500 but the lady wanted rid so bad I flippantly offered her £800 and she agreed. My one owner sprint blue 20VT that had been garaged by a wealthy lawyer who lived in one those posh conversion flats in Whitechapel, the car lived underground. Absolutely and utterly rust free including the radiator support panel, and it had a full repaint only 2 years before me. I gave him £1200 for it, and it was only 3 years ago. My other sprint blue 20VT which I bought from the First Lady owner who was a teacher at a school. She didn’t like the colour combos so paid Fiat to have the interior retrimmed in beige leather. I still see the car as the guy I sold it to still has it. Utterly mint floor including the radiator support. My one owner 20VT in scotts green I picked up from some university professor in Chiswick. Lacquer was gone, but low mileage and the strongest of engines with a solid 3 bar oil pressure literally always. I paid £900 for it, and I remember this odd guy in his 2M house saying he’d never seen so much cash before. Lol. And only three months ago I bought my second LE this time in Vinci Grey. It needed a turbo but still drove. I couldn’t get into them again, and sold it to my brother who still has it amongst some other classics including an Alfa 75 3.0 V6 Veloce, a pair of 164 24v Cloverleafs (white and red, one has optional Recaros) and some other Porsche and BMW’s. He rebuilt the turbo with a new cartridge himself and loves it as it’s his first, but I’m well bored by now. He’s had a number of Ferraris as well including his Giallo 355 he only just traded to Porsche for a 997 911 turbo S convertible.

    if you take off the fenders with the indicators you can also find rust on the chassis where the fender is screwed on. I had it in my MY99 20vt... i was lucky that i did not had to weld it...

    Hello, am interested in buying one with only 115k km and its in a very good condition (the owner takes care of it but doesn't use it). Unfortunately it needs a good service but that's it. Also its a 1999 20vt edition with sunroof. Any idea what i should pay attention to? Is it as slippery as they say in general? What about her cornering ability and in what speed does she feel uncomfortable? Thank you in advance!

  • @ExploringwithAustinandThomas

    @ExploringwithAustinandThomas

    Жыл бұрын

    The Gtec 1 is a plug and play chip which should allow you to get around 30bhp extra, it allows fuelling of up to 1.2 bar on the standard turbo, Gtec 2 is aimed for higher bhp but requires at least an front mounted intercooler and possibly an uprated fuel pump or direct wiring modification to the existing fuel pump.

    Should you buy one? There are 3 answers possible; NO, FUCK NO, and HELL NO. Fiat never was a reliable brand, but the time these were made Fiats were exceptionally unreliable, you'll be hard pressed to find one that hasn't had computer issues, and those issues will come back. These cars are nice to look at, but too big for paperweights, so they're completely useless.
