Just did this mod on my 2016 Fiat 500e. Connect your new relay with the original wires for the horn, and your steering wheel button will work.

Ive got a beef with my neighbors and this would be PERFECT every time i lock my car at 3 am, 14 times

BTW, you CAN lock the Fiat 500e without the horn beep. Just shut the door and use the key. A quick flick counter-clockwise locks the doors and the hatch. I have been doing this at home so I don't disturb the neighbors, and usually do it other places also. I'll keep doing this until I upgrade to an air horn. I'm looking at the dual tone Wolo Bad Boy. It's made for a motorcycle, so it's small.

@@GordonChristie It still does the beep if done from the driver side when you shut the door. It may not beep when you lock the passenger side and then shut it, I haven't tried that. But I don't want to walk to the other side of the car to do that anyway when I can just use the key when I get out on the driver side.

Thanks. For 2015 they added more colors including one of my fav the Celeste Blue (retro/baby/sky blue). That with white interior & 1957 edition wheels would be killer. Enjoy!

Wow I can't believe that you got rid of the traditional horn button. During an emergency do you really want to be fumbling with a little toggle switch out of view? Horn does sound great though!

I agree. In a quick, no-time-to-think moment is he going to reach down and hit the toggle switch or instinctively push on the steering wheel (to no avail)? I enjoy his videos though.

That’s so awesome! Do you think a company will make a replacement battery pack for the car with more range. I plan on keeping mine until the battery’s go bad but would want to replace them with better ones.

Don't know. But, I do know that the Samsung SDI cells that make up the pack are the same BMW uses in the i3 (but in a different pack shape). And those cells, now have 50% more capacity. It seems it would not be to hard to simply replace the cells in the pack. 100 mile (summer) range becomes 150. If I can get a deal on a newer i3 that's been totaled, I'll do it. That & make the CCS fast charger out of the same car work with the Fiat at the same time!

I would be very interested in seeing that build series! I was also wondering about different power maps for the car like eco mode, normal and sport then an extra ludicrous mode like Tesla. Something you could just plug into the car. Another bummer is not being able to see engine temp, coolant temp, power usage from various things in the car like A/C, phones charging. I like the be informed of everything of all the vehicle’s health status.

Thanks. The Fiat was actually designed to have a CCS fast charger. They deleted it for cost. We are looking at the possibilities of adding it. There needs to be more fast chargers locations to charge at first.

Crimp connectors in a harsh environment mean lots of trouble down the line. Learn to solder! Good luck using the horn in an emergency.

I have had to put my horn on a switch on my car as well as I have a sports wheel, and the connector on the clock spring would not work with the horn button on my wheel, would just be constantly on, so switch in the dash it was, it’s still easy to get to you just have to train yourself to where it is basically

No, now that it's tweaked to near perfect, I'll be driving it for the next 20 years. Unless, Fiat decides to go all in on EV's & make the next gen 500 a baby Tesla with AWD.
