Quick tip. End wildfire with spreadshot. Because the double hit counts as two wildfire hits even if it’s your third hit. Meaning wildfire will pop as if you got 4 GCDs inside for 16,000 rather than 12,000 Best combos assuming turret debuff on target: Wildfire>burst shot 4.4k>analyse drill 19.8k>scattershot double hit 8.8k> wildfire then bursts for 17.6k If re-engaging and chainsaw ready it gets even better. Wildfire>chainsaw 11k>analyse drill 19.8k>scattershot single target 8.8k> wildfire pops for 17.6k This tip puts MCH at the highest single target burst damage in the game. You can also change up if you have air anchor ready. Wildfire > burst shot 4.4K > analyse air anchor for the sun to prevent heals 8.8k > scattershot double hit 8.8k > wildfire pops for 17.6k for a decent 39k~ while stunned if someone is already taken damage. TLDR try to always end wildfire with scattershot (they share a cooldown time so it ain’t hard to track)also for what it’s worth….. wildfire explodes AFTER the knockback from scattershot. Which gives big happy feels when you knock a guy you focussed into their friends and watch them explode for 17.6k aoe damage. I’ve had one glorious triple kill with that. (Also assuming at least 1 hit for your turret the te-engage chainsaw combo is the only 3GCD combo taht will one shot a tanks health from 100>0)

However scattershot got 2k potency buff per hit so the extra 4k you used to get for wildfire exploding by ending in scattershot you now just get on single target from the scattershot. Pre patch Scattershot as last hit of wildfire = 8.8k+17.6k = 26.4k Post patch with scatter shot upgraded by 2k potency per hit = 13.2k + 13.2k = 26.4k All you lose is that extra 4.4K being aoe I guess.

@@ScarletSisters19 boo to the change I say. Bio has the downside of having to get closer, having it proc wildfire easier seems a fair trade.

@@jasonmullin3522 agreed. I'm still relatively new to MCH PvP and having BioB proc wildfire seemed decently fair. Now if I have BioB ready I just wanna get rid of it ASAP

Make a nice portrait. Mine ref the image of Big Boss looking down the sight with the eye patch eye, I still need to find a better angle though. I wish it had effects, as Reaper's just sucks and that my pve main.

This is so helpful. I didn’t realize that the scatter shot or the ticks on bio blaster counted towards wild fires.

Thank you for this guide I am not normally very good at PVP regardless of the game being a casual gamer. But when I am finishing every match on average with 7 kills 0 deaths and some high number of assists I am excited and this guide really helped.

the Limit break counts as a wildfire stack as well, so you can do Wildfire > Any GCD (Blast shot, bioblaster, scattershot) > analysis AA > LB in a group

I've been maining Bard in PVP since the update, and it's been amazing. Found a love for BRD I haven't experienced before. Then, I wanted to try MCH, and absolutely failed. I was getting barely 2 kills a match, compared to my typical 7ish on BRD. I felt like I had no idea how to play MCH because I was NOT getting the crazy kills I have fallen victim to and seen with MCH before. After watching this video and using your tips, my first match out the gate I did over a million dmg and got 9 kills. NOW I LOVE MCH IN PVP. Thanks Haps! Great tips!

Sadly, video is already outdated. 6.11 patch notes have "fixed issues" and mchs bioblaster counting and more then one hit for wildfire being one of them. It's a shame, makes the needed risk of being closer for bio count for more. If you have someone on you, getting a faster wildfire is a big help.

Maybe a silly question, but why do you have skill that you'll never look at like Elixir or Recuperate really huge in the middle of the screen and important skills like tools smaller at the bottom? Same in PvE, seems really weird and impractical

Patch 6.11 Notes: "-An issue wherein the machinist PvP action Wildfire counted the damage over time effect of Bioblaster as attack actions required for detonation." Guess that cool combo no longer works...

I felt like that was the thing that actually made machinist work. Now getting close to bioblast and scatter is all just risk and no reward...

The MCH LB should be insta kill, it's a sniper. Other than that, I like using the shotgun in the volcano arena right when a bomb spawns. Shotgun + analysis + bioblaster and watch the bodies drop. (except PLD) It's hard to pull off but I've done it three times just out of luck.

If you see a BLM or SGE on the enemy team, they are probably the best target for you to harass if you have your LB. A single buffed drill and LB will kill them instantly if they don't notice you and guard in time. BLM has to get a GCD off on you before CCing you and SGE has no CC for you either so guard is pretty much their only option. Disrupting these classes in particular is pretty big too since they're nasty if left unchecked.

Request from a noob to this type of game mode (haven't played LoL or OW for more than an hour at most each, so not familiar with slang used in either): I don't know what "peel" means without googling it, please consider using plain english or explain what the slang used means in future videos.

personally I don't like pvp anymore it doesn't make sense to me

People talk about White Mage and Samurai and Red Mage like they're the only broken classes in PvP, but I swear I can't go a single game of CC without a Machinist on both teams, it's crazy. And like, I get why, the Autoturret is super annoying, Drill piercing guard is actually extremely powerful, knockbacks are more powerful than they should be because in certain maps they rub me against a wall and make my camera freak out, and also I've already been Chainsaw instant-killed three times in one game and I'm not over it.

It's still early in the PVP season (also with these new changes). People are going to start seeing how good some other jobs are once the meta shifts (like it does in every PVP mode for every game).

its good for low rank, High rank people dont guard in low HP, they dont all stack 5man on top of each other. Machinist is an easy target for warrior pull
