Recently picked up whm, it's nice to see most of this I've been doing. However I wasn't aware presence of mind was for attacks, I've been saving it for spam heals. Good to know I've been using it wrong and can make a change. Thank you for the great guide 😀

@@Juliacare I understand what tier saying in the beginning loss of dps and I wasn't critizing the rotation you are right but in allot of content my 1st 2 moves are regen and medica 2 no matter if it's loss of dps or not. But it is a rotation I do use God work though thank you for the content

@@USMC0331 I can guarentee you that you can handle whatever you're precasting medica for a lot better through other means like your co barrier healer using a oGCD or you just simply using a lily heal after since those are dps neutral at least.

SE talking to healers: "Hey! You suck at the thing you are doing 90% of the time, loser. Watch how much more damage your friends do than you! You're so weak! NO! Don't you heal! Hit the demon manifested from a porcupines psyche with a noodle while I laugh at you!"

I am a newbie with 15 lvl Conjurer :D I watched all even tho I understood nothing. I will come back here later, I know it.

This is also optimal end game stuff. So find a rotation for your level as well as read what your abilities actually do and learn them by name and icon.

Ive just started whm again, im a drk main, im by no means a meta player, half the stuff i dont understand, im dyslexic as fuck when it comes to rpg games, i tried sage but brain just shuts off and freezes everyone says this is the brain dead job, though i have a level 55 whm, i find it alot easier to understand, at the moment i just cast regen on the tank when hes pulling, i use holy on multiple enemies and just spam it, and if anyone else takes damage, i just use medica 1 or 2 depending, ive also used PoM and swift cast together to just nuke trash mobs with holy cause i love looking at the spell, look no one has died with me as a whm but as a sage, lets just say it didnt go well and some people got annoyed

white mage indeed is very beginner friendly. Hopefully once you get more comfortable with healing then you can try sage again. Check out my healing guide as well for some more insight in how to heal in non dungeon content.

Note: dont accidentlly use cure 1 in higher tier roulettes. The tank WILL mock you for the rest of the dungeon and make you feel like a piece of shit, and keep doing it until you just leave the party...

Never had that happen, if you're healing well enough and doing your job, you should be getting praise for managing to do what most can't

I am honestly very Bad at Video games. So I am glad that there is WHM where I can just play the Story without having to be really good at the gameplay. I am imterested how much players FFXIV would loose if they gave WHM a Kit Like Astro. I know I would be gone.

There’s a lot of jobs that have the simplicity of WHM. DPS has SMN, tank has the new PLD for example.

Is this one if not the best healers in the game?

All four healers are completely viable. Each brings their own value. WHM shares a raid spot mainly with AST and WHM is often picked over AST due to its simplicity but both are equally as viable.

@@MissouriMikeFishing white mage is slightly easier than ast and sch, and it starts at level 1 unlike sge. This means you have more time to get used to healing. I don’t think it’s a bad idea do start with white mage. That said, if you want to you could start with any healer.

As a WHM with over 2k hours in the class heres the biggest essentials you need: 1) medica 2+regen=auto pilot. the regen effects stack on eachother, keep these on ur tank AT ALL TIMES and you can focus on pure dps 2) start every fight with a swift cast holy to stun, assize to heal/do damage, and give you time to put medica 2 and regen up if you have not done so 3) SERIOUSLY use medica 2+regen, i switched to tank lately and i can not believe amount of people i see that dont know this LEARN IT, USE IT, LOVE IT! 4) lillies are your friends, blood lilly is your best friend from childhood you had a crush on and you havent seen in 12 years and they looking FINE ASF, do not be afraid to burn your lillies in place of saving MP (thats actually what they're for!) 5) check yourself. WHM has the highest output of raw heal power, its versatility in this department with its obscene amount of OGCDs will ensure you have the ability to save virtually ANY situation, because of this its very easy to get an inflated ego and a god complex. There will always be someone better than you, and you are there to protect the party, not lord over them like your shit dont stink. dont make demands like force the tank to go further (thats their choice whether you are bored or not). 6) lastly and this is the ABSOLUTE MOST IMPORTANT RULE: you MUST always use rescue on someone in dohn meg's final boss fight, Feel free to borrow my macro below /micon "Rescue" /ac "Rescue" /p Into the Abyss with ya! :D slight edit: also please be aware of how your tanks work. It's annoying asf for DRKs to use the blackest night (literally their best ability), and they get zero value off it because everyone is stunned. its easy to avoid this. just watch your tank status effs. TBN has a well known icon (look it up if you dont know it), if you see it, ease off on the holy spam.

If you need to keep Medica 2 and Regen on the tank to do DPS then you're not using your oGCDs This is bad advice...

A couple of minor errors, but otherwise a decent guide.

I’m not trying to be mean but this ain’t exactly a guide so much as just reading the tool tips. A guide would give situational examples as how to best process the skill uses. Like for example, Seat of Sacrifice EX, EW EX1, or P3S where you have to heal the party to full in a short time frame or the entire party dies instantly, confession + cure 3 would be the fastest way back up once lowered to 1 hp, and instead of medica 2 after, set it up before the reduction so the HP regen is ticking before hand. If you feel that more healing is needed you can boost it by using asylum or temperance to further boost healing output to make the time frame but try to not to waste all resources at once. Talking about combos or situations like that is going to give people a mental note of “oh this is good for raid wide or tankbusters” this current tier bleeds are a nightmare so while previously regen was almost never recommended to be used it has a far better pay off since it saves resources down the line (toxic crunch DoT on tanks) I’m not trying to be mean but just offering criticism because this video isn’t really going to clarify healing to people new to it since they could have just read the tips themselves. Like for anyone new to AST, they might look as Synastry as a way to heal 2 targets as the spell is intended (the person with the buff gets 40% of the other person that gets healed) so you could heal a double tank buster at once since the OT needs less priority healing right? But Synastry could also be used as a solo heal buff. If you place it on Main Tank, and heal the main tank, they now get the full heal + 40% meaning they get a boost equal to having 2 neutral sects up worth of potency boost. But the skill never tells you that since it only explains the use of being able to heal 2 targets at once. And on a final side note, I would explain the stat priority for the healer covered in the video. Something like WHM wouldn’t mind some extra piety if the current armor doesn’t provide enough to maintain MP through the fight, but a class like AST would NEVER want any piety melds/priority pieces since it has 2 lucid dreaming charges, and each card gives 500MP every 30 seconds and it has access to being able to store 2 (1000 instant MP) so piety is useless on AST and should be avoided where on WHM assize and lucid leave it in a bad spot if the WHM dies, loses all MP and and has lucid on cooldown and lilies get lost too so you can’t rely on your free heals either and only have access to 2 Thin air charges

This video isn’t meant to explain how to heal, just how to white mage. Also stat priority for healers is something the community is split on so I’m not even going to bother. These videos are supposed to basic guides that get the main idea of the job across without overwhelming a beginner with a wave of information they simply don’t need yet. This format has proven to be incredibly helpful for newer players who struggle to understand tooltips, and I do explain when to consider using certain spells and which to avoid using. If you were looking for a more intermediate or advanced guide then those are linked in the description. I also specifically did not mention examples as someone who’s new to the game probably won’t have done those encounters as they’re not current content.

On the contrary this doesn't properly explain nothing. You state like whm's priority in healing two tanks but that's not whm priority in general. Their priority is the main tank and always has been. The priority of the OT is the other healer who'd focus party heals more. In contrary your playing whm wrong.

I don't think I would ever use this rotation as an opener. I never nor would I open up as a dps rotation. I cast regen on tank or tanks then medica 2 then presence of mind Dia glare then asylum rinse repeat on the basic other heals like planery indulgence and the wing spell

Why would you cast GCD heals when you don't have to? That's an instant DPS loss from the opener onwards, you also cast PoM to half miss raid buffs. Also heals are completely fight dependent, why would I mention them in a general purpose opener? From reading your comment it seems to me like you don't actually know what you're talking about.

@@Juliacare Hello! New player here. Is the alternative opener that player is suggesting a perhaps more proactive approach rather than reactive approach? I would imagine having to heal during your DPS combos is also a loss of DPS. However, if regens and buffs are applied earlier does that help mitigate DPS loss? I also understand proactive healing is better on barrier healers. Just trying to understand the thought process more on both parties. Thanks for the guide!

@@BowlOfReisz Thats a fair understanding as there is logic behind it however in practice there are no fights that require you to heal more than your oGCDs within the first 30 seconds. Simply the way all fights are designed is that they give people an opening burst at least which take up to 30 seconds. There sometimes is a raidwide within these 30 seconds or a small mechanic but nothing that can't be solved by lossless healing.

You're not wrong. Typically throwing at least a Med 2 at the start of a fight will help mitigate any damage especially since most trials open with a raid-wide 30% damage. Allowing players to regen through that means more time casting DPS spells.
