This video really helped me out. I just recently got into ffxiv, I got to astrologian in the first few days cause I really liked how it looked but when I got it I was immediately over whelmed with how much there is to it.

I miss Diurnal/Nocturnal Sect, I always prefer to have both a regen and a shield healer in a group. when you joined up in a full group and there was a WHM you can go Nocturnal and be a shield healer to compensate and vice versa when a SCH was there.

I didn’t think I’d end up enjoying healer but ast made me change my mind. It’s my 2nd main class I’m leveling next to blm. I love the healing plus damage buffs n damage reduction it’s a great all around healer and I love the look of ast

Hello Julia, another great video this time covering my favourite job in the game. I have one question: if, as you said, we should be aiming for only 2 different seals for astrodyne, shouldnt that mean we would never have to use 2 redraws in our opener and burst windows, since we can guarantee that either the second or third card will have a different seal from the rest? Cheers and keep up the good work, these guides are amazing!

Good question, generally we use redraw to get the good role based cards.

I got confused and I like it. I just started 2 weeks ago with a lvl 65 dragoon and looking to play astrologian and GB as well.

So the way i understand the even minute and off minute cards is... by minute 5 you will have an astrodyne that is outside of your even minute burst window correct? Or at least thats the way it lines up for me i am not sure if im doing something wrong

“From the main menu, select System and open the Character Configuration menu, then select the Display Name Settings tab from the column on the left. It was made in 6.4 but nothing changed for ast so it’s still up to date

Im dumb sorry, I dont understand the off/even minute. So opener you play 3, then on first cd you play one card, then on cd you draw card but dont play untill you can draw 2 in a row again and repeat?

Pretty much! Try to not draw your card after the odd minute on CD, else it might be a little tight in actually playing it. But just draw it before you gain the next charge.

To be honest, I started AST just because of Gravity. As a child, I first played FFVIII on a blurry 17 inch CRT and became obsessed with Demi and gravity magic for some reason. I still gravitate towards it, and I love the space aesthetic. (AST has the best LB3 in the game) I have played AST as my primary healer since shortly after it was introduced. I have had a lot of issues with how it has changed, and am worried about the 7.0 rework... but I suspect I will keep playing it. I hope it keeps the RNG cards, splitting my attention between mechanics, easy DPSing, easy healing and an easy card game ends up being an engaging juggling act.

I hope SE revamps Gravity so it does damage to enemies near the player, like the AoE DPS skill of the other healers.

I hope they don’t. Gravity is so awesome the way it is. It feels good to be away from the mobs and casting ur AoE at them.
