That C major 7 sounds beautiful😊
Great song! Fun! Thanks! :)
good stuff, as usual. thanks ryan
what a video to wake up to
As ever, a concise and great lesson on how to play the perfect strumming tune. Love your channel ☺️
Love this so much as Coldplay are my favourite band. (now 2nd fave) keep on doing what you do please.
Awesome lesson. Lotta fun and the educational bonus at the end....👍. You rock.

The flip side of this is that the one and five (Do and So) ovelap so well, they can almost sound redundant. So from what I understand (from some other video i've watched), the fifth (So) is often left out of chords played in jazz, especially when we do't want the guitar to take up too much room in the sonic mix. So for a Major 7th chord, they might just play the one, three, and seven (Do, Mi, and Ti.)
That’s a beautiful guitar!!!!
you da man! 👊
Coldplay also do a alternative retuning with yellow and sky of stars which gives it the unusual sound we all know. This is something we’ve always heard in the 70’s from the laurel canyon songwriters in the 70s ie Springsteen, young, Jackson brown , Joni Mitchell, csn etc. and also the folk and blues scene where they often used open tunings

I thought Springsteen was from Jersey, so more of a Tin Pan Alley writer. Was I wrong? Was he a Laurel Canyon refugee? (Don't forget Zappa!)
I like your style man 🤙🏽
Omg this is my favourite song of all time.....lucky already know how to play it ahaha, love your videos ryan 😊

No talking to each other!!!!
Are you EVER going to play a part that you want us to learn… before you teach us the part? So we know what to outcome will sound like after we master what you have taught…? Dude… you are awesome… and you teach all the same songs I love… but MY GOD… play the section you are gonna teach.. then teach us the parts… this one is closer to what I am asking… you at least teach it then play it … sort of..? Play it… through… then teach it… come on my man.. 🙏

I used to feel the same way. Now I’m more advanced I came back to his videos. From my experience you need to have a solid foundation to learn from him. That’s not a knock against him. I believe his channel isn’t for beginners. More people that already know their way around the axe.
For the second version, you could just move everything up 2 frets and perform in a lower, easier to sing key.. just fyi.. great lesson as always.

Could you explain that a little more? He's only tuning the two high strings up a half step.

@shelbyavant5081 where he says play F you would play G and so on. I made a mistake though.. it would take you up a key vs. Down.. but you wouldn't need to do special tuning.
