A plastic double female hose thread connector bought from the hardware store is going to be cheaper, more reliable and take less time.

Ha. I could drive to and get back from Lowes in less time this video took, let alone the time that fabrication _actually_ took. But if I lived "out back" somewhere, it's a good trick to keep in mind.
If you have these things just laying around, you probably already have an adapter.
First off, if you're actually buying water hoses without a female coupler on one end, and a male coupler on the other end, then you have bigger issues than just needing a coupler! Second, this hack ONLY works if you have that type/size of PVC laying around, and the exact size nut you need to make the threads. If you don't have either of those, you will need to buy those items, thus negating the need to come up with the hack!

Thanks. You forgot the two orange washers! You have hit the nail on the head. These hackers assume/ presume that we all have these exact-fit items lying at home. This is NOT the case. So most of these hacks are NOT for the average DIY.

Exactly just go buy the adapter.

Hi, interesting method of making an adapter, however in the U. S. Our hoses come with one male and one female end so such a coupler is not necessary.

The mind is the best tool one can possess. Your mind is well at work. Blessings.
The key is to have these pieces on hand, and a gas stove or a torch handy to heat up the metal nut enough to be able to melt a thread in to the PVC tubing. Nice and creative idea for sure!
A lot of work and need to have the tools and items - I rather buy an adapter if I need one. BUT - well done!

I guess it’s useful in those areas where there is a lack of adequate plumbing supplies!
Since each female coupling was added to the hoses aftermarket, just buy, and have on hand, a double male when you bought the females.

This method requires a very specific set of circumstances. 1: you need to connect 2 female adapters. You have no other option. 2: You need to be in possesion of a nut with the correct thread. 3: You need to be in possesion of a plastic pipe with the correct diameter, made from a type of plastic that melt instead of burning to a crisp. 4: you need to have immediate access to a heat source that will heat the nut to a specific temperature. If at all possible, I would just buy a quick connect set instead. I live in Denmark, so a set from Gardena (one that would only let water through when connected) would be the obvious choice...

Personally I'd simply use the other end of the hose. The one that already has a male end on it.

I use a female/female hose for my sewerage connection on my camper and use a male/male barrel to keep it closed while stored. Interesting 🏕
could save a trip to town
If the adapter was designed well, why did something to change the way of function that was not necessary. Did the little connection device hard to find or it was far too expensive to buy it once for facilitate own consumption daily?
You can buy threaded hose adaptors just for that.

Well what if you don’t have the metal fitting or the scrap plastic pipe in the correct size. So it’s likely cheaper to buy the adapter if you need it.

Still you need the nut and fusion pipe.
You are burning the aunties kitchen top
Soooooo, instead of just buying the coupler, likely with included washers as well, for a few bux, you need to have: -- a metal fitting of the exact size and thread, -- a length of plastic pipe the exact right diameter, -- a convenient gas stove to heat the fitting, -- a utility knife to trim the finished pipe, etc., and -- *still* need washers to prevent leaks. Like, great, it can be done if you have all that stuff handy, but why bother? I can just imagine someone walking into a supply store to buy the metal fitting, pipe, etc., and making a kludgey homebrew adapter, instead of just buying the exact perfectly-fitting adapter directly.
I’ve never had a need to hook up hose backwards.
How much to instantly buy a steel one ?
Lo hace más complicado. Los dos extremos de la manguera ya de por sí tienen adaptador
Reparación de una manguera rota? Por fis
Its called the amazing technique of turning one of the hoses around and using the freaking end with the female thread. Duh.
En caso de no poder hacerlo, dónde y cuanto costaria ese adaptador?
It would have been easier to just remove one of those hose ends and put those threads on the plain hose end exposed instead of making a double-ended piece.
u must have this pipe parts, otherwise buy a cheap connector is more easy and safe.
Obviously, those are replacement hose ends. It would be much easier to just replace one with a male end.

@@Mrinventor93 It's not
You can repipe a house in that country with garden hoses pvc and a heat gun
If I didn't already have one, I would buy a 2" male-male 3/4" piece just like that for .25-.50 cents at the Restore down the street from me....just has to be the large threads version to work with the hose, most aren't because they're for interior fixtures hose and line connections....lol
it going to be much easier to buy an adapter than to try that that could possibly even start a fire if a mistake was made

☑️🌻
easiest way..1/2 pex..3/4 worm clamps 50 one ebay 10$...comprendo..
Ok, but it looks like more effort than walking to the store and buying the adapter.
Easier to buy a 97 cent adapter
You connected to female ends together leaving two male ends. How could you hook it up to the spicket? This doesn't make any sense.
where I'm from, it's easier to buy the correct part than making one... coz most will not have the necessary material to make one anyways
Good idea if you have the parts lying about to make it,if not just as easy to buy the connector for under $1
