A simple but amazingly productive and dare I say it essential tool to have, I’ve been watching probably more videos than I should about speed squares, and have learnt to appreciate it more than ever

Ну, на канале Антона Вебера ещё и описывается, как по-быстрому переносить углы запила с уклона ската на луч вальмы и наоборот, расписано, как соотносятся шкалы уклона и луча (то есть соотношение шкал графического калькулятора, которым свенсон и является), итд. Но таки да, здесь всё крайне наглядно, лаконично и без воды!

I was hoping that there happened to be a slide rule video in your collection because I suspect that you would rock it like a rocket scientist! Thanks to the genius Albert Swanson, who in 1925 invented this wonderful device !!! I still have my very fist speed square, given to me as part of my fitst carpentry kit, its 17 years old and still going !! I tend to keep and use it in and around the house these days though. Every tool box should have one. Thanks for the Very helpful vid !!

How mad is that?! I’m doing the same thing myself Louisa. Just bought the square on the advice of a neighbor. I’m attempting to fit some skirting boards tomorrow, along with the new circular saw I have bought too. It’s great when you start accumulating tools again. I’m more organized now , so hopefully I’ll be more careful with them 👍👍👍🇬🇧.

Despite visual only, i find this concise demo much easier than other video clips to understand and to remember most functionalities this tool offers. Many thanks 👍

Used a speed square for several years and even I learned a couple new tricks. Thank you.

And here I was just drawing 90 and 45 degree angles with mine!! Great tool when used by those in the know 👍👍

I do siding and the difference in a fast worker and a slow one is knowledge of a speed square . Another good tool to learn is the 24 inch square. It's all you need to build a house.

@@travishanks7295 I just found my dads beat up Stanley last night and I’ve been learning lately through my apprenticeship. I immediately jumped online and started learning what all the markers are. I had no idea Hot many functions a right angle could provide. They have quick guides for all the rafter cuts and how to do everything right in their website.

By far the most thorough explanation I’ve seen of the different functionalities

Been using one for years but always looking to learn something new!👍

Have one speed square for a year over but never fully aware of those functions, great man,tq.

Some of the most uneducated men in the world can read a speed square hell not hard

Woulda made a nice birfday present for me 40 years ago. I had no idea. Whatever few major woodworking projects I dreamed up over the years I just did it the knucklebusting way. Handing me a speed square was always sort of like handing a book to a guy who couldn't read. Thanks for the GREAT video! Only now do I finally get it.

I always smoke budd before starting any construction job. Calms the shakes and the nerves
