I purchased the original Festool Domino after seeing it advertised when it was first announced. I ordered the full kit as you have in this video. It has been a great purchase and has shown how versatile it can be. The aftermarket accessories for these tools certainly make them even better. I sometimes think about the larger model but for the price, my needs and limited potential of usage I would think that a good dowel jig would be more affordable and be just as good. Nicely done introduction to your Domino.

Thanks for the feedback, the 500 is so incredibly useful for different types of joints. I have both and I use the smaller one for almost everything except for when a large supportive tenon is needed

Hey man, you don't want to adjust the mortise size without the domino running.

Thanks! The 700 is great for anything structural, but otherwise I’m using the 500 as well 👍🏻

I have the 500 and love it, wish I had the 700 also for larger slabs and breadboard ends, maybe one day

Just got mine delivered today. Excited to start using it. I went back and forth for months debating to go with the 700 plus the Seneca adapter or just the 500. Since most of my work will initially be smaller stuff, I figured the 500 was the way to go. If I need something bigger later on I'll just add the 700. Right tool for the right job. The 700 with adapter just feels a bit hacky to me.

Nice! The 500 is much more practical for different situations from what I’ve experienced. The big tenons with the 700 are great for bigger/structural joints, but I go to the 500 for everything else 👍🏻

Hey i have a question the spindel where the bit is in, the part that moves to the left and right is always getting hot for my domino is that the same for your domino

It does get quite warm after use but not outrageously hot. I went to swap the cutter out for a different size immediately using it yesterday and it was warm enough that I immediately set it down/dropped it as quickly as possible.

Nice! I have both and I actually like the 500 better.. the 700 is great for the big mortises on dining tables and such, but the 500 is much quicker/efficient to use

Same here. If I ever start making solid wood doors, gates or beds I'll get one then. Right tool for the right job.
