@@3k3k3 im also trying to be objective but I watched BMW onboard. All situation was unnecessary. Similar situation with Perez and Magnussen in Monaco was called race incident . But Magnussen was really fighting for position. Bmw ignored blue flag , and was fighting anyway he was one lap back . I mean Robert isn’t without guilt and maybe deserved penalty but BMW payed high price .

What was that bmw doing, fckin hell… Pushed him into the gt3, refused to let the leader by, cut the chicane, still refused to let him by and then this… nah man that’s not how your race.

In the first 30 seconds you can see Vanthoor using the slower cars to block Kubica at >300kmh. And at the crash event he was doing just the same. It's driving was a lot over the limit of the car.

@@mabot2459 - #15 coming back from a track rejoin - the leader was behind with flashing blue to #15 - the leader passed to go 3 wide. - #83 was ahead and holding a straight line while being 3 wide - #15 slightly turned the wheel left when they were 3 wide. He had clear visuals that they are 3 wide. Bmw had all the time and visuals to lift and avoid the accident. If even he held a straight line, most likely there wouldn't have been an accident. It's a 24 hour race, mistakes happen, but #15 didn't do enough to avoid the accident.

BMW was at fault here. Ignoring blue flags and twice tried to block the leader against a GT3. Second time didn’t end well for him.

Immediately before the collision, Vanthoor turned slightly to the left. Kubica was driving straight, as can be seen from the lines on the road.

@@stephanevanrompaey5110 Watch one more time onboard from BMW and look carefully at line on the road (the right one). You"ll see that BMW moved to the left just before the collision, probably not intentionally. Vanthoor, in this situation (GT3 car) could and should to leave more space for Kubica.

How is it the bmw's fault. Kubica knows there is a car on his right decides to flick his steering wheel to the right when he is along side, the blue flags dont mean you have to let him go. multiclass you can fight to get the laps back.

Bmw also saw gt3 in front and should leave a space for kubica but he didn't and ended up on the barrier which was his fault not kubicas. There should be no penalty for kubica as he didn't do anything wrong.

@@FastLifeVlog look at the video. He is well clear of the gt3. Has plenty of space to overtake in the middle. And they've already overtaken the gt3. And then deciding to flick the steering wheel. You have to realize they are 40+ kph faster in a straight line it takes under a second to be in front.

Kubica either got unsettled on a bump or started moving onto the dry part of the track without clearing the BMW first... but that BMW had no right to be where it was then. Horrible driving standards from Vanthoor, unjust penalty for Kubica in my eyes.

@@nifty2k801 Actually Robert said that his car only moved laterally after contact was made, so that case I considered is not true according to him anyways. But my point was that even if that was the case, then principally the BMW should not be in a place to possibly interfere with the race leader's car. That's my opinion.

Because the Blue flag says that a fast car is coming behind you, not to slow down and let him pass, so I think Kubica had fault because he already al passed the GT3 and could leave space

if Vanthoor hadn't crashed, he would have received a penalty too.. What he did was disrespectful. Don´t mess with Kubica.

Except for all the stupid things BMW has done, there is one more thing. At 0:57, he moves a bit to the left just before the contact. When they fight for a tiny gap of a few centimeters, this kind of move may decide whether you go off the track or not. Robert also made a mistake, but mostly because of this guy. He should get a penalty for the next race as well. This is not what we should see in top categories especially when you are lapped . This looks more like go-karting.

Just for info for all the mad people complaining about "ignoring blue flags": Blue flags in endurance racing arent anything like blue flags in F1. The flag is nothing more than an information, that there is a faster car approaching. There is absolutely no duty to get out of the way. Kubica deserved a penalty for just coming across like a mad man... I dont care about any of the teams, and sure it was unnecessary from both drivers, but especially the BMW as it ended their race but kubica still caused the crash... Everybody shouldnt forget it happended at 300+ kph tho and it is millimeters between cars sometimes, so shit can hit the fan pretty quick imo...

Vanthoor would have to move to the left or he would be in the barriers before the turn. Kubica left him no space at all. Vanthoor had half a meter of space total. What many of you don't know, blue flag is NOT a command flag, it is strictly informational. I know you guys are very pro Kubica because you are mostly Polish, but it was clear who caused the collision, and the issued penalty was unfortunately justified. Just bad luck for both drivers, but Kubica could have easily avoided this by moving half a meter to the left and leaving Vanthoor some space for the corner.

If they would be fighting for a place you might justifier dries action. But he was being lapped meaning your not racing anymore, BMW was just trying to survive. Person shows his true skill,while being lapped. Yes maybe Robert could’ve moved a bit to the left but dries could’ve slowed a bit to let him pass but that was ignored and orders where to fight and dries prove to be a real BMW driver

Dries was of course driving for his place because you can forget it if your are being lapped at LM 24. It was his first lap out on cold tires, hence missing the second chicane. Nevertheless Robert is 100% wrong for causing the crash.

Ignoring blue is one thing, ending the race for a whole crew by pushing them into a barrier is much worse. So many stupid Kubica fanboys, glad their Ferrari got the karma back and retired

The facts: Dries made indeed a mistake at the entry of the second chicane, trying not to be lapped because then you can forget about it with the current WEC rules. Surely he should give the place to Robert once he has been informed by the race director or get then a penalty. However Robert should simply receive a black flag because his action is totally outrageous. So dangerous at that speed downhill to Mulsanne corner. You cannot react like this a these speeds. Some gentlemen driver have already been banned for less, while we are talking about a Platinum driver acting so stupidly... Besides the facts: crazy to think Robert has been driving a few years with WRT and here he is simply throwing a former teammate into the barriers...

I understand your point of view, but I don't think Robert did it of his own free will, from his on board he doesn't veer to the right but maintains the diagonal of overtaking and I would add that the BMW has half a meter to the right to move.

If no one respected the blue flags, no LeMans24 race would make sense. See what happened on the last lap before the accident. If every driver drove like Vantoor, it would not be possible to race in as many as three categories in one race.

He was being lapped by the leader of the race, has BIG blue screen flushing at him. Yet he was racing Robert, like he was in the lead. Clearly you can see Robert being patient with him. You can see how he moves his car to box Robert in to slower GT cars. I don’t believe for second Robert intentionally wanted to hit him. He is so focused on trying to keep Robert behind, cuts the track 🤩 what a genius! No respect for leader from BMW driver. He took him self out of the race and is only one to blame in my book.

The video could have started 30sec eaelyer so you could see Vanthoor breaking himself infront of Kubica into the first chicane. Dries Vanthoor seems to be a driver which is not good at a managing gaps at high speeds.
