February 2019 we had 24 inches of snow in the hills outside of Seattle which froze in place for several days. I watched someone drive a Ferrari FF through a twisty and hilly section of road. A UPS delivery truck was blocking the part of the road with tire ruts in the snow. The driver of the FF steered into the unplowed shoulder area and continued driving without stopping. I could hear tit's underbelly sliding and grinding on the ice, tires spitting snow, all in harmony with the snarl of the V12. I've wanted one ever since.

I had a pretty similar experience in my lusso when I took it up to Alaska. People don't seem to underunderstand it's hard to stop an AWD 6.3 liter v12.

Looking back at the FF from today 12/2019 I can say it has aged very very well and would be my pick over its newer replacement the GTC4 Lusso. They nailed the looks and sound for a 100% stock car. I think it’s perfect as it sits and I never think that way about sport cars.

Oh, to be Harry for a week! Driving to ski in the French Alps in a Ferrari FF! And to return to that beautiful estate!

I think the FF is fantastic. Shooting-breaks have a fortified history in the world of European sports cars and big Ferrari GTs have a lure all to themselves apart from their lightweight track busters. Reminds me (faintly) of the old F356 Daytona.

@@andyelliott8027Different era, but among my favourite moments in any Harry’s Garage episode was when he took his young grandson out in something rapid and, while stationary, Harry took a request from the rear. “Loud”, I think the lad demanded. Harry duly obliged & the boy giggled like a lunatic all the way through the launch and up to speed. I’m pretty sure he gulped “Again, grandpa!”. These moments are rare, pure joy. And we may have witnessed another petrolhead being born. Thanks, Harry, for all the joy you’ve shared with us through the years. You can tell how commonplace is the same desire for thrills and excitement shown by your little grandson by the numbers of BMW M cars the Audi RSs, the AMGs and the like. People like performance cars, more men than women. It’s almost as if there are two sexes. The world’s a better place for their existence (cars and two sexes) and though the miserabilists appear to be gaining the upper hand, I feel fortunate to have been around for much of the era of great cars and bikes that ordinary people can (just about) afford.

Love this man, literally hes like the less egotistic version of Jeremy Clarkson he has the stage presence the knowledge and the driving skill, and obviously has worked very hard for a long time to get to where he is today, this is why i tell my kids to save every penny of their money when they get old enough to have jobs, as if they do then they too will be driving Ferrari,s one day with gods grace.

One of the greatest and most daft ideas ever. I'd love one!

Great to see a Ferrari being used in a more day to day manner, and nice to see its up to the job too. I know the FF has come under fire for the way it looks but I think to appreciate this car's styling you have to view it in a very different head space to that of most Ferrari. Its been designed with a different function in mind. I like it. As always, I love Harry's relaxed yet informative style of review.

@@azizhachimi8744 The guy with money can pay for any damage that may occur, via adequate insurance or out-of-pocket money. And he is more likely to make a purchase than those without resources. If you built and sold exotic machinery, you would likely have a similar set of rules.

Harry Metcalfe is a highly informed and experienced automotive journalist who owns two of his own Ferraris..... he hardly needs to ask the manufacturer for a “jolly” for free. He’s invited to more car launches than you’ve taken breaths..... so check your facts maybe before posting 👍

Ferrari must be delighted with the positive report from a true fan boy...not bad for two weeks use of the press car... well done Harry !

FYI, those are not "snow tires" but "winter tires." 🤓 Yes, of course they (also) work better in snow, but the main advantage is that the softer rubber also delivers better tracking in cold conditions, regardless if it's wet, dry or on snow or ice.

This is probably my favorite Ferrari.

Supercar that can be used just as any regular one. That's a big plus for me too.

When I lived in Ottawa, a guy daily drove a black FF year round. I saw it a few times on major snow days out at the shops. Spendy for sure but a pant load of fun too, I'm sure.

An almost perfect 9.3/10...the car, not the price! That interior looks so warm, and welcoming...but that price, while it may be worth every penny to its target class of very loyal, very wealthy consumer, with little more to worry about other than how to burn thru a half million on any given weekend, I think for the most part, is quite inflated, and I'd like to know how they justify it...ahh, right, that priceless sound...on the other hand, there is a definite value to exclusivity, own something very few can attain, and that value tends to reward it's faithful owner in years to come.

what a nice homage to the Jensen FF, the first and best 4WD passenger car ever, even the hat shelf thats going up with the boot lid you will find there. Did you ever drive one?

Just seeing this older vid for the first time. So, 660hp naturally aspirated V12 that sounds PHENOMENAL, a hatchback with room (as opposed to normal sportscars), AND four-wheel drive?? If this thing had a manual trans...perfect car.

I too think it’s a great idea. Given the requisite funds it’s the modern Ferrari that I’d choose.

That FF is loud. I heard one once in Minnesota USA and it was far away from me, what a sound.

I LOVE THE FF. AWESOME. PERIOD.-

800 miles in a day is impressive - I've done 1500 miles in 3 days before and I thought I was doing well (albeit in that was on the West Coast of Ireland and The Highlands of Scotland so it probably counts for a little more not being on carriageway/motorway/Autoroute.

I think it depends on what kind of car are you driving. I did 1800 miles in 32 hours in a very comfortable V8 Merc. Dont know if I could do it in a normal car, though.

Watching this in 2020 early examples are now around 90k GBP. They are still very desirable.

Another good video Harry! You're almost the antithesis of Jeremy Clarkson - Not as controversial but every bit as charismatic and knowledgeable. It's a good balance.

Depending on the car, a lot of passengers would complain about pins and needles after a 800 mile trip. I think the Ferrari sis quite well.

I like the Hot Hatch style and in Red WOW.

This would be a great car for me here in Canada with our snow. Currently my Porsche is tucked away for the winter. Great review Harry.

I just did a trip from Cornwall in the UK to Switzerland then to Barcelona and back to Cornwall over 3000 miles in a 2011 599. The only issue was the fuel stops the car was faultless.

Love watching current videos Harry but your old ones put us to shame driving to south frame then skiing ⛷

14:25 you say to keep the Ferrari under a cover through the winter. My '08 F430 spider manual sees use 12 months a year in Tokyo. Granted no snow or salt, but it's only needed one repair from new. I wouldn't call them fragile. In fact the ones with engines behind the driver seem to let owners walk away from hellacious shunts.

How did you get the rear screens for the entertainment system

I’m a Big Fan of cruise control Harry! My average per day is usually 65 mph. If I’m not mistaken you drove 800 miles in 12 hours, or was it 10 hours @ 80 mph? 🇮🇹🦅🏁
