Imagine this beast in the middle of the night at full throttle down the Mulsanne straight. Epic sounds, much better than F1 cars of today.

I LOVE this channel: no battery operated cars, no kids quoting dead Brazilian drivers out of context, just passion and a lot of knowledge about motorsport! Thanks

Did I ever enjoy this, yes I did. Love these older race cars. What a rare privilege to be able to see it turn laps, more so to drive it and race it hard like it was built to do. So happy you posted the video. Best of luck to you at the races.

Awesome fascinating insight into an awesome machine. I know you would have been rev and tyre limited but how did those lap times compare to 2023 BTCC times...Just curious. Ace video

Fantastic stuff. Do you left foot brake in the corners where you're not downshifting? And does a desire to left foot brake sometimes mean you might hold a slightly higher gear than is ideal in order to facilitate it?

  • @BrundleBTW

I do not; the pedals are not positioned so you can in this one. Long gears are because of the torque, which is massive from a V12 and the fact it’s just a shakedown so we are not pushing super hard

read brundle....most race car drivers are left foot only clutch, right foot toe on brake and right foot heel on gas, right foot is tilted at an angle

I recall a comparison test ( Motor Sport ? ) between a T70 , a 917 and a 512 . The 512 was criticised as being simply too noisy for its driver over long periods.
