Pero qué guitarrita más encantadora y deliciosa y en qué excelente estado se encuentra y trasmite su chispa. Sor, además, revive con toda aquella alegría y sosiego de una música tan clásica y equilibrada. Me ha gustado mucho. No se prodiga mucho por estos repertorios, me parece, salvo el trabajo de la guitarra de los leones. Un gusto oírle este Sor.

Meraviglioso. Simply wonderful. I'm resuming classical guitar studies after 15 years of other musical interests and it's so inspiring to see musicians like you that shows a different approach on this instrument (sound, technique, nails,....). This is something that I really missed. Thank you so much for your precious work and taste!

Bravissimo! Romantic guitar, renaissance lute, baroque lute (your memorable interpretation of the Tombeau de Mezangeau), baroque guitar, theorbo, any plucked instrument fits you, with technical and historical skill! Perhaps only vihuela is missing. Any video is a masterpiece. Grazie mille

It is nice to hear this on a period guitar with gut strings. At 6:45 Sor quoats the Marseillaise twice. This is why German maestro Georg Lawall called it Sonata La Marseillaise and he augmented it (by detecting the lost movements) to a grande sonate, argueing that originally it must have been one (why should a composer stop after the first movement?) Very interesting to see another lutenist with gut-strung romantic guitar - many thanks, Xavier! (Though my experience is a bit diminished by frequent distortions in sound and pinkish picture.)

Brilliant. I'd love to listen to an integral of Sor recorded by you. It's absolutely necessary to listen to his works with this kind of sound. I'm more and more convinced that guitar music is all about the right amount of noise. The sceptic "cleanliness" of sound that we've been exposed to all this past century takes away all the character and expression.
