No since this was the last race of 2010 and DRS was introduced in 2011, it must've been announced earlier

@@151bar151 well. You just said it right. That was the last race. And at the end of each season the FIA gets together to analyze the year and evaluate possible regulations that they need to modify or implement for the following year. It was announced shortly after, but not before the race.

The funniest part about this is how Petrov was absolutely lackluster the entire season. Only to come to Abu Dhabi on the final race, with Fernando Alonso on his back, and suddenly become the most immaculate racer of all time.

@@user-kw7me9bf9g Exactly. That is the problem with DRS> TOO EASY , TOO ARTIFICIAL. Also, he couldn't have passed him with the 2011 DRS rules either, cuz Petrov would've been using it to defend. That was more like it but because FIA care too much about safety bullshit, they designated zones in the following year.

Everytime he came closer he escaped... If they ran on a real track with grass and gravel, Alonso would be out of the race by the 50% mark

2010 was actually the first year of today's points system where you would get 25 points for a win. If it were the old points system, it wouldve been impossible for seb to win with a 25 point gap to the leader with 2 races left. Not trying to undermine Seb's success tho, he did an incredible job that season, while setting the record for youngest WDC
