I'm really glad you posted the facts about Yuzuru's so called friends. It makes us appreciate him all the more and confirms our belief that he is a cut above the rest. He is a true sportsman and an example to us in many aspects including his charity work and his concern for the victims of the earthquake in Japan. Such a pity that everyone cannot live up to his standards and thus they envy him.

It is very sad to hear these news about those whose name themselves Yusuru's friends. I believe they might regret what they said... I hope. Especially for Javier Fernandez who is now in the Fantasy Ice program where Yusuru is the maximums star of the show. Definitely, Yusuru may have a heart to forgive, but he is wise and those words wouldn't be forgotten.

You don't forget when "friends" say nasty things about you. He also chose to tell Yuzu right before the medal ceremony at the 2018 Olympics that he was going to retire. This made Yuzu very sad and he cried. He should have waited for a private moment but took the victory away from Yuzu by drawing attention to himself. They are no longer friends, but Yuzu will never be rude at least in public

I don’t like to remember the incident in Poeng Chang olympics . But I was very upset of how javi treated Yuzu just right before the ceremony. How dare he destroy such a beautiful moment for Yuzu. Friends don’t do that they rejoice with you and are glad for your victory. Very bad behaviour of javi that’s not a friend only jealousy.

He carried on with FOI 23 beautifully with Fernandez and Oda included. I don’t know when Fernandez made these comments or Oda used Mr. Hanyu 's name to promot his book, but if these all happened after agreeing to be on the show together, YUZURU HANYU would not go back on his word-for he is a man of his words, and shun them. He would not give anyone the opportunity to speculate about the absence of the two skaters. As an old saying goes " The summit is a lonly place." Who cares now? Nobody! There will always be jealousy when you are the best, and hate. People would try to take you down by any means. Yuzu unfortunately is very exposed to such bad behaviour as he is absolutely untouchable. But who cares ? His fanyuz are here to support him and we know he says the truth he doesn’t need to find excuses . If it’s his fault he’ll admit it right away and train even more to do better next time. That’s Yuzu and we appreciate him for that. Let him rely on the support of his fanyuz and the rest is not worth talking about! ❤

people one thing don't understand is i would never watch a practice of javier nathen or patrick for a hr but i would of this guy that should tell you everything i don't care about scores or falls i care about watching him skate

It's a shame but they're right about something yuzuru is too polite to make a drama in public. I ❤ you yuzu.

I took a close look at the opening day footage of Faoi 2023. The skaters pair up, and Yuzuru skates with Javier, they wave and smile, but their interactions have a distinctly different quality to the one we've seen from the two of them up to 2018. Whereas in the past it was always Javier who seemed to be in charge of the situation, the "older brother" so to speak, now it is Yuzuru who tousles Javier's hair and gives him a slap. 😎 I have no doubt that this friendship is over, or at least clearly downgraded to mere "acquaintance". I'm sure it was a shock for Yuzu at the time, but it's better that he knows where he stands with Javier and has drawn the consequences. He seemed close with Johnny Weir though, I hope he is a better friend to him.

Yuzuru is the epitome of nobleness. I am not Japanese, even though I admire their culture and personalities. So, I will say, it was not the first time Fernandez hurt Yuzuru. I cannot forget how in PyeonChang, when Yuzuru was above the sky with happiness for winning, Javier told Yuzu he retires. He stole Yuzu's thunder. We all know what happened, the world knows. And the world knows there was a big hole in Beijing22 . Yuzuru would never ever fabricate something to his advantage. Now Fernandez tries to promote himself by using Yuzuru. And so does Oda. What a shame!

@@luvl1344 I don't believe that! If Yuzuru had been a mean and horrible person it would have come to everyone's attention already at least 10 years ago! In FS there was a lot of hatred between skaters before Yuzuru came! The seniors threated their juniors like a bit crap (remember how badly Takhashi treated Yuzuru)! When Yuzuru came,he made peace between skaters,and showed that hatred isn't a good thing and doesn't pay! We thought always it was Yuzuru and Javier together who did it! But today in hindsight it was Yuzuru who created peace on the ice rink's all by himself! Today we knows better! Javier don't like Yuzuru and he is lying about him and speaks badly about Yuzuru! Even Yuzuru has recounted surviving a magnitude 9 ( 9 is hardest and highest level) earthquake and managing to get out of a raging building and toxic liquids and fumes when the pipes beneath the ice burst! It wasn't obvious to Yuzuru that he would survive! But he did it! He said that the earthquake and have a privilege to survive it,totally changed his whole person and all his values in life he had before that disaster! He certainly didn't mean any harm to Miki but thought more about her training,how she could best return after a delivery! Btw. I have Japanese friends who study here and they never treat each other or me rudely!

This comment by Javier is well known. To me, his comments sounds more like envy and jealousy of Yuzuru than anything else. Think of it like this: a 16 year old boy from Japan comes to Canada to train with Brian Orser and you have been there for a while. You think that well he is young and I have been here longer so no worries. Then you notice that this young boy has better skating skills than you, is always on time for training, trains long hours and does not quit until he is satisfied. Then three of years later, at age 19 he wins his first Olympic Gold and he then wins second Olympic Gold and breaks 19 world records, completes a Super Slam and is praised and loved by millions of people around the world by achieving his dreams. The hardest thing for any person is to admit to themselves that there is always someone who is better because they worked hard and sacrificed a lot to achieve their goals. Javier was a good skater, but not at the level of Yuzuru and he knows that, so to make himself feel better, he makes stupid remarks. It was obvious to all that there was a hole in the ice there is evidence of that, and for Javier to say otherwise is to make himself feel better. I am surprised though by Oda who professed on a number of occasions that he is best friends with Yuzuru, that he would say something like this. Was he using Yuzuru friendship as a stepping stone in his own career? Who knows but if it's the case, I am very disappointed in him. The old saying, who needs enemies when you have friends like that is very appropriate at this moment.

Johnny hasn't really been a better friend. In the seasons after PeyongChang when Yuzu was injured and Chen was winning all his comps, Johnny was all fanboy for Chen and very critical of Yuzu. He even said Yuzu should retire. I have no doubt that treachery hurt Yuzu. In one of his interviews he actually said that it got to where he didn't know who he could trust anymore. I think Yuzu has a huge heart for forgiveness and maybe has forgiven Weir (or maybe it was all show for Fernandez) but I think he knows he can't trust Fernandez. He was a jerk about Yuzu's fans when he apologized about the remarks and wasn't sincere about being truly sorry. I think Yuzu was probably mad he dissed the Fanyu.

My opinion, Yuzuru treats Weir as Idol in his early skating years. But I think we can't expect the same from Weir. Anyhow, he is American, sure he will support his country mate. I saw Weir shadow in Yuzuru's early skating but personally I think Yuzuru's got the charisma that I like. Strong and gentle.

You are right when you say certain comments were inappropriate. Yes, it does seem like Javier is two-faced.when he refutes Yuzuru's explanation just short of calling him a liar, but then skates in FaOI. Sad. Thank you for your comments!

If Yuzu doesn’t want javi to skate in FOI he wouldn’t have invited him to come. It’s his show after all so why invite someone who treated you bad? I think you are right. Javier was angry and hurtful because he was rejected, as you say blocked. He was getting back at Yuzuru. Everyone saw the ice fault- fans, journalists, other skaters. It should have been repaired before competition. Right again about yuzuru training harder if the mistake was his. You can see Yuzuru no longer welcomes his touch, shying away from it and him.

He supposed to be the one knows yuzuru better than anyone else cause they training together for years.yuzuru already at the point when he need support the most during Beijing Olympic n yet javi do this to him.. Javier has always been jealous of Yuzuru. From the time Yuzuru joined the Cricket Club and won everything under the sun because he worked for it and believed in himself. Javier was a lazy skater and Brian Orser has said so, not turning up for practice when he was supposed to where as Yuzuru was always on time and working on his programs until he was satisfied. That is dedication to your art. When Yuzuru got his 330 score at 2015 GPF in Barcelona, you could see on Javiers face, even though he bowed to Yuzuru, that he was not happy that he got outdone at his own hometown competition. That would have cemented his resentment and with Yuzuru winning the 2018 Olympic gold medal at age 23, that was the final nail in Javiers coffin. Yuzuru won everything by the age of 27 that Javier never could.

When you have a young man who works hard for what he has achieved, win 2 Olympic gold medals, breaks 19 world records, completes a Super Grand Slam and has done so much for the skating fraternity by the age of 27, of course jealousy and envy will happen. When your own coach admits on a number of occasions that Yuzuru is a better skater that you and no one else will surpass his achievements, that will play on your mind and create enmity. For someone like Javi , who was supposedly his best friend at the Cricket Club say that they were not friends but skating buddies and competitors is a sign that he was not happy that Yuzuru has surpassed him as a skater and as a person. If you have nothing nice to say about someone, it's best that you say nothing at all. All Javi did was make a fool out of himself by saying what he did on Spanish television.
