if no electron occupies any level in the band gap, how come the fermi level sits in there while it means the probability of 50% to be occupied by an electron. if it's a band gap then it has a 0% probability of being occupied by an electron, what am I missing?

Why the electrons are more than holes then the fermi level will moves to conduction band. Please explain clarity in another video.

since electrons already appear loosely connect to the main atom. they can easily get to conduction band

Why does the Fermi band move towards the conduction band when the number of electrons is greater than that of holes? If it moves upwards, won't the probability of finding an electron increase? So how can we say that Fermi level is where the probability is 50-50?

@Teppa00

As the temperature increases, the bonds start to break making hole-electron pairs. This way, there's two posible scenarios: If it was an excentric material, the proportion of majority charge porters start to decrease, and might reach a point where it's insignificant. If it was an intrinsic, the proportion stays the same, half electrons and half holes. So you can see that at any temperature, in an intrinsic material, the fermi level stays in the same state of energy, and in an intrinsic, it starts to behave like an intrinsic as the temperature increases
