There's nothing like that quiet, slow "chuff chuff chuff" of an old Ferguson. Good luck with your restoration.

I spent many, many days driving one of those back in the 50s/60s. It was the first tractor I ever drove doing real field work and I started on it at the age of 7 hauling hay wagons around the field while the men loaded. Next job was scuffling corn with a Ferguson cultivator, and then on to working summer fallow with a Ferguson semi-mounted disc or Ferguson spring-tooth cultivator. I do remember though that sometimes it would vapour lock during a hot summer afternoon and you wouldn't be able to get it to start until it cooled down a bit, which wasn't fun when I got sent to a field a long way down the road from home and had to walk back. I have a lot of fond memories of that tractor though, so enjoy yours because I think they pretty much last forever! :)

Great memories! They are remarkable and sturdy machines. I think everyone would benefit from hours spent on a tractor. Thanks for your comment.

Just the funnest little tractors.

Nice! I envy your climate. Here in the UK, anything that is outside won't last long before it's completely rusted away

I owned one for 16 years and sadly had to sell it in 1980. Always loved the sound of the engine. I found one for sale and bought it and am restoring it for fun and show.
