Ferenc Kovács {ENG SUB}

Ferenc Kovács was born in 1957. His mother was a painter. His father was a Mihály Munkácsy-prize winning sculptor. He plays the piano, the violin and the trumpet. He got a degree in singing, solfeggio and trumpet teaching.
He is one of the most versatile figures of contemporary jazz, but he is also an outstanding performer of folk and contemporary music. His most significant independent work is the Magony record, which was inspired by Hungarian folk music, jazz and contemporary music too. Besides music, sport plays an important role in his life as well. He achieved international success several times as a member of the Hungarian kendo team and individually too.
He was a European champion, and in 1997, he became a world champion. Later, he founded his own club, which he is still in charge of.
