I really love this light. The 21700 makes it more reliable and the chip is great. Also very good with heat. I have had the light on at 400 flood in a heated chamber for hours. And not a single problem. And very nice. Red is always available if you don't want anybody to wake up

Thanks for this review. I have a 4 year old Olight that is getting dodgy (flickering, turning off) which is no good for a torch which I depend on. Have heard good things about Fenix lights in general. Was close to getting another 18650 light but having seen this 21700 one it seems more practical.

Hi George. Mine is still going strong and the 5000 mAh battery does give a long run time.

if it fits 21700, then you can still use 18650 with adapter.at least it work this way on my TK22 v1

@@ApocGuy this one is the same you can get the $5 adapter and use 18650 and if it's like the other fenix I have you can also put two cr123 batteries in the adapter as well. That's one big plus to fenix lights compared to most others that like using only their brand batteries.

The stated time is 6 hours and 8 hours for the 400 lumen flood. I haven't tested the accuracy of this.

@@CaverKeith I also own the hm70r. And use the 400 flood often. Im pretty it gets the 8h, then it's starts flashing saying it really want to be charged

Hi, I'm interested in buying this headlamp, there's just one thing keeping me from getting it. The weight. The outputs look great but I'm not sure if it would be too heavy on my helmet. Your thoughs on the weight? Is it noticable?

Right now I'm deciding between Hm65r and Hm70r, the 70r has better outputs but it's heavier.... I'm not sure what to get.

I too was a little concerned about the weight but I haven't found it noticeable. I prefer the switch on the HM70R, but you can have either flood or beam, but not both at the same time.

Don't like the one led indicator with different colors and blinks to indicate state. Much prefer the MH65R with it's 4 led indicators. Prefer the MH61R with it's one led when adjusting the brightness, too complicated with two when working. Usb-C is good as everything else has it, and if this one is locked behind threads for water sealing it is even better then the MH61R special magnet cable.

I agree about the LED charge state indicator but I do prefer the HM70R single switch for caving use, it's much easier to operate.
