So glad after hearing the 1960 American Vintage 11 Series P- Bass that I bought a 3- Tone Sunburst in November 2022, when they first came out. It's my first Bass, starting lessons on KZread and online. I'm 67 years old.
Great video, and I want to love these but once again fouled by the ubiquitous vintage TALL frets. Actual vintage bass fret height is .043, not .055 , it's all about where the rubber meets the road.
AV2 1960 P Bass sounds real vintage. Crispy and also fat. Well done fender
Custom Shop features minus the 4 grand price tag. This is a great new series from USA Fender, I have the 1960 P Bass on radar for sure! I like the "C profile" neck better than the "thick C" from the USA "Original Series" version I used to own. Also, specific year voicing is better than a decade span IMO...

The 60 AVII does look good but the Fender American Vintage 63 P Bass is the best of all!

These have flatsawn necks. Most CS 'vintage' basses have quartersawn necks.

@@carlton1390 certainly not as authentic, but more stable in my experience...less tweaking of the truss required

Indeed, but from my experience quarter sawn bass necks sound too bright for a vintage style Fender, the truss rod can rattle more, and doesn’t operate as easily.
You forgot to turn the Tone down on the jazz
54 all day and it was the only one woth flats
Must be a new month, Fender have released some more "new" basses and guitars.

I have had a Jazz Bass for 20 years… But I am getting the itch for a P Bass… I have the 60s Classic Vibe P Bass, but I really want to smell the nitro finish when I open the case. The 54 has been talking to me. Might have to pull the trigger. Someone talk me out of it… 😂
