wow, I was gonna do this very same mod to my cv 60 squier. But now, after hearing them side by side, the stock pups are gonna stay. I think they sound just as good. Thanks for posting this
Stock pickups are better. Really don't see the "custom chop" factor here.
Both sound amazing but strangely I prefer the stock set.. I have a CV50's and didn't dig the pickups tooo much (dont get me wrong amazing stock pups) so I switched them out of Duncan SSL-1's and they sound amazing. It's probably the best sounding fender I have ever played.
Groovy sounds man! I play my classic vibe strat nearly every day - Would not dream of changing anything on it other than the strings!!
I prefer the stock; the CS sound thinner/brighter to me. Thanks much for the demo!
To my ears the stock pickups sound better. Warmer and slightly fuller. The CS '69s are a little brighter but tend to get a little harsh. The '69s don't have hum cancelling in pos 2 and 4 either
Stock are fine !

Maybe it is bad quality video's fault, but I don't ear a 250 euro pick up difference!!! It is just me ???
The texas specials are very pretty and every positions are interesting, with a good fender amp and a gold finger you can sound like SRV ;)
IMO a big improvement.
I'm only hearing about a ten dollar difference at the most lol. I would LOVE to hear some of the Fender Pure Vintage PUPs compared to these as they are "pure vintage" construction and not as expensive
I prefer stock pickups for cleans on neck and neck/middle; '69 for the rest (clean and gain), but the diference is subtle. The stock pickups sound great.
nice tones!
you should have not said which pickup was which....and then those that notice such a huge improvement, may not quite notice it as much...
the stock pups in the 60s are actually toneriders "blues classics" and something different by tonerider in the 50s...for real, do some digging and find out...no need to change 'em for lack of quality, you might just want a different sound...they're stayin in mine.
In this video i like the original ones ! Would not change if I had one
Both sound great, slight preference for the stock pickups
Big difference with the '69s bridge pup. But that's about it. The other pups don't sound that much different... nearly identical I'd say.
guitarro73 is tripping. The CS 57/62 are amazing clean and on drive you really get classic rock pure tone out of them. The CS 69's are a great upgrade after a while of playing the 57/62's. People like him (I'm assuming) just don't know how to set them up. Pickup height and the volume knob on the guitar makes a huge difference in tone. The amp is important as well. A pure tube amp will really make these pups shine instead of the solid state amp here in this video.
Do you have the CV 60's pickups available for sale? I think I'd rather buy those...
Haha this is a first!! To sit here feeling gutted about saving £140... I see no reason to rush out and buy this pup set for my Mex now tbh. There's a difference but I wouldn't say its worth all that extra brass. They both have a nice sound and tone in there own right. Really starting to see straight through all this fairy tale bullshit were sold from the biggest leading guitar manufactures. Of course quality made gear is always better than cheaply made crap but I ask to my self.... at what level does it just start become fantasy?? £3500 custom Strat they sell for instance that's almost no different to a £300 squire!! sounds like fantasy to me Thanks for making this demo
stock pus are not too bad. thankx for uploading
I upgrade mine classic vibe 60's with Texas special pickups
I was considering this upgrade as well. can you please give a detailed explanation as to what you think about it? coz I feel in youtube due to compression the exact sound quality of the guitar is not distinguishable
Original one is very good for me.
CS 69s sound best to me set very low. Set a little high can give them more hair, more like the stock CV60's, but then the CS69's glassy definition gets lost. I think those CS 69's might sound better lower, but they would sound more like a different animal than the CV60's allegedly a.k.a. Tonerider Blues.
Great video. You definitely get more punch out of the '69s. Worth the $200?
Hi, nice demo man, what strings are you using in the demo ?, are you in std tuning ? cheers
Clean goes the CV pickups. Drive goes to the 69s.

This is my opinion, too. Maybe the CV 60 gets a bigger advantage on Clean that the 69 can't bring back on Drive.
They have the same tone because its the same guitar but the 69 pickups are much fuller
Is there a major difference between the two pick ups?? I am going to buy one of the classic vibe strats... what is the difference between the 50's and the 60's and for that matter which one is better???
I think the 69's pickups would sound better with a maple board. They are made for that style of guitar. I put those pickups in my Mexican made 60's anniversary blizzard pearl Strat, and they sound fantastic. The classic vibe is a great guitar for the price.

I didn't think it made a difference if the guitar had a Rosewood or Maple neck. I'm torn between putting these in my Mexi strat or getting the 57/62's.

ok, victorhsales@live.com
I don't find notable differences. The only difference that I can find is the weight of the wallet after buying the CS69.
So, how those pups works??? I was afraid tu buy them because my unpleasant experience with custom shop pups, those ones really sound like SRV??? so powerful and so brilliant??? regards.
Why do they sound the same?
You would probably hear a bigger difference playing through a tube amp rather than a solid state amp
hey, can you tell me your amp settings? i have the same amp...
I completely agree. I liked the pups in the CV way more than even american strat pups.
In my experience, best pickups are definitly stock ones, american standard or vintage style alnico wich comes with mexican classic series, i had these AY custom 69 and sounds like shit, very metallic higs ear hurting but not brilliant, i had also 57-62, same. i think fender doesn't give same quality as the one in an original guitar so pirates can not upgrade a squier with identical quality state. what do you think folks!!
Is the amp the fender 212R ?

yes
the 69's have more of that fender twang
really not worth the price seems like, very similar tone from both sets in this video at lest.

You have the ability to play guitar, why don't you take some lessons. When you play guitar it's pretty much like singing, try playing slowly with low mid and high volume, try to make the guitar sing.
