I owned a 1962 Strat from my uncle. I Play that 2003 , with a tribute to Jimi Hendrix , to a birthday , i played Star Spangled Banner and some other tunes . The audiance was overwhelming with applause and cry for more . Nothing can beat the sound of a Strat. Anyway I wish all here a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The 1970's Strats were heavier because they cut less wood off the necks and bodies making them look bulkier and much heavier! Guys who cut the Strat body shapes didn't give shit anymore about the quality they once had the time for and lost the love of the job. This is what CBS did to Fender who knew fuck all about guitars.They bought Fender because they saw it as a profitable operation and quality didn't matter. That's why Fender guitars and amplifiers went in the toilet bowl leaving few come off the line falf decent!
