Yeah exactly...I own the next step up in squier (affinity strat) and I'm very seriously considering buying one of these amps to mess around with at home. I'm not an accomplished pro and don't have the most sophisticated musical palette and this video gave me a very realistic look at what to expect from my little rig if I purchase it and to me it sounds good. I saw other videos that showcased some of the presets more and after seeing everything I'm pretty sure I'm pulling the trigger on this, and soon!...

No the Mustang LT25 does not sound like a Kemper or Line 6 Helix. It also does not cost anywhere near as much. I wish that I had something like this when I was starting out in the late 60's. I have this amp and use it for silent practicing with the headphones. As expected the 'Fender' style amp presets are a bit better than some of the other's. The Marshall tones sound too exaggerated to me at least when compared to my Marshall tube amp that I use for gigging. The presets are easy to select and very easy to edit. If you download 'Fender Tone' for Windows or Mac you can easily control the amp via the USB connection. You can also use the USB to record to your favorite DAW. Overall it is a great amp for practice.

I picked one of these up for my office. Fully updated it. It sounds muffled and distant like you’re listening to someone play through a door in a different room. What do you expect from the speaker at this price point I guess. You can use the EQ to sort of help it. It’s a shame that there’s no global EQ that will stick like the GT/GTX series.

This video does not do justice to this amp. It's a definite improvement on the Mustang GT40 and Katana 50 for clean and light to mid overdrive sounds, and I've owned all three. See Dawson's video with Tom Quayle for a better idea of what this amp can do. Even Fender's video with Rick Heinz is much better, and his videos sometimes aren't great either. The neck pickup tone with overdrive and delay at 12:20 is a better indicator of the good sounds that this amp is capable of, and the built in overdrive and distortion pedal sounds are good too. A Squier CV or Fender Player Strat would sound better than the cheap Bullet Strat that Lee is playing. It makes me wonder if his margin on these amps is less than some similarly priced ones, so he doesn't want them to sound too good, 'cause he won't make as much off sales of them compared to others.

It is a pity it doesn’t include at least a post EQ XLR out. Which would make it extremely useful, to plug into the desk. It does include a mini usb out, which is handy. It doesn’t have the modelling features of the Studio 40 or Stage 800, which again is a pity, but for a recording musician on a budget where space is limited I suppose it could fit the bill. Think I would in reality go straight for the Stage or Studio versions with the improved options and connectablility. But I certainly wouldn’t refuse one if it happened to fall into my Christmas stocking. I’d find a use fit it.

If you have a good enough laptop (or PC if you don't have to transport it) you could also go with a software solution like bias amp and bias fx which are obviously way cheaper and sound decent enough. However if you go software you would have to buy an Audiointerface for around 100-150€ and either get good monitors or something else that would be able to produce a good and loud enough sound.

Those squiers are also a good starter guitar, and are not actually that bad in sound compared to something far more pricy. I have the Telecaster version of the same guitar. I’ve heard the mustang lt25 in real life, and it sounds much better in the room than people give it credit for, and I think it’s more versatile than my champion 20. I’ve never been disappointed by a rumble amp either. I have a basic rumble 40, but it sounds great! I happened to try the rumble 100 one day thinking it would just be louder and not any better in terms of tone, but wow, the low E on the 100 shakes the floor like nothing else, even in combination with my inexpensive Ibanez gio bass.

I have two of them and use one in the studio and live for everything now even though I have a collection of vintage Fender amps from small to large. I use the Twin Reverb setting for clean to edge of breakup sounds and the Bassman for more distortion. I keep the master volume on 5. Next to the real amps it sounds slightly better to my ears and doesn’t need to be extra loud to sound great. The onboard reverb is awesome though I use a 63 reissue reverb unit for more surf sounds. The onboard delay is perfect for Brian Setzer or Johnny Cash slap back and the tremolo is great too though I use a tremolo pedal because it is also my boost and it’s convenient. I had a hard time admitting it to myself but now it’s my all time favorite amp. Even the feel is perfect. Mustang 1 forever!
