Im so lucky that still have japan version. I pick that up guitar center and has bit more thinker and more jazz tone in my person.

Mex sounds thicker and fuller to my ears, perhaps a slightly different position on the bass pot ? Both sound killer in the end ay !

Played great! I liked the Mexican better. It sounds fuller and deeper. Japanese sounds brighter but flatter.

Made in japan sounds like old strings you need to do this kind of comparison using the samer strings model and strings action

Can you tell me why mine has 2 pick up switches? Is one active or passive and one go between the front and back pickups?

Mexico is for me full and rich tone from jazz bass. Ist clear, deep, bright, powerfull in slap and attractive. Japan is for me little bit lower in sound than Mexico. Its not too much "Fender" tone, its make some more lighter and there is not too much mids. I prefer bass from Mexico. 😊😊

jauh banget sama Jepang, mexico kaya bass fender fender kastem murahan

el mexicano se escucha ligeramente con mas cuerpo y potencia que el japones

japan version is untuned, desafinado. better sound de Japan version more sound body range, Mexico is bright en less much.

Japanese sounds better
