The clean tone that always satisfies me when I’m in a mood where nothing sounds great to me is a Strat into a Blackface Fender with “too much” reverb, at least much more than I’d ever use at a gig. That reverb soaked BF Strat sound is the one tone that no matter what my mood or if I’m feeling burnt out it sounds good. Especially in the 2 and 4 positions.

@@MatthewScottmusic Eh, I'm not really such a fan of it. Okay, okay, alright.... I'll admit that plugging a Strat into a blackface reverb amp is definitely among the most satisfying tones in the galaxy...top 3 anyway. 😁 However, if/when I happen to need a little "air", I *personally* prefer a smidge of analog delay more than any reverb... particularly and especially within a live band context for sure! You know...just a li'l slapback. ;) So, while I DO recognize the wonderful fulfillment of the lush Fender 'verb, it just doesn't work for me in all scenarios. Again, that's just my personal preference. You definitely have a handle on yer gear, tho', mang! Rock on. 🤘

I have played Fender amps for the past 40 years and they are hands down the best sounding amps. I have tried many other brands over the years but was always trying to find that sweet Fender sound so I always went back to my trusty Fender. Super Reverbs and Twins are my choice. Many years on the road and in the studio and they never fail to perform. Fenders are the perfect platform for pedals. Most backlines today are Fenders. There it is.
