I got the HSS last week and the tone difference between it and my 2012 American Standard with fat 50s is astounding. Absolutely love it and can’t put it down. 🤟👍 Better in every respect.

cool, I'm thinking of getting that exact guitar, in the Miami blue.....sometimes in pictures it looks more blueish, other times sort of a greenish hue......what do you think it looks more like?

@@johnhennessey5 i did get it....on Sweetwater. Paid $1549 for it, and the very next day it went up to $1749. Fantastic guitar, looks great, plays great, sounds great. Looks more blueish than anything, love the color.

Great playing and nice to see someone actually using the tremolo in a Strat demo. It’s amazing how many people don’t even have the arm in place. How you can review/demo a guitar without using one of its main features is beyond me.

@@SevanStick I really wish Fender would make more hardtail Strats, as hardly anyone uses their tremolo. I have a Fiesta Red hardtail from 1998. The little bit of extra wood and the string-thru-body design affords more sustain and suits the Strat better, I think.

Most people use the tremolo in a spasmodic way and it sounds boring very quickly.

The beveled neck joint is such a nice addition to a strat! IMO, getting one of these without the humbucker is plain redundant...you can always tap it if you're a single coil position 1 player.

Can't wait for mine, arriving tomorrow...

@gheddi These are the best in my opinion at the price point for feel. I bought the lake placid blue one 2019 and wish I could have kept it but only reviewed a couple months. Needed funds and bought fusion T Harley benton. Both can be heard on my little newbie channel. Hheheheh. Forgive my cheap added plug. I love the new company. Heheh

Good review as always. I have American Standard from 1998 when.I will change in future I choose american original or second hand custom shop, I think in my opinion the american pro I and the new It's too expensive 1800 euros and now probably fender adjust the price in all american range again por customers. I don't tester new II american pro I don't like v-mods I know they change for v-mods II, no sound too bad. I knows friends and my luthier don't like the pop in tremolo arm and the v-mods . Some people prefer the new changes. I hope test the new guitars in a guitar shop to compare the real quality. I love fender guitars and amps but american pro II new prices Europe are expensive and now with a world pandemic and economic crisis I think that despite being the market leader in these range of guitars it may be losing sales due to the continuous rise in price of the American range because the competition also makes good guitars. We will also see a higher demand for second-hand guitars and also their prices, each one decides how they spend their money. A cordial greeting to all the guitarists and the channel and the good reviews it makes.

I have the Ultra and it’s even better than these. I love the ultra double tap humbucker, which uses different magnets than the double tap on the American Professional.

Sounds and looks like minor 7th chords... just a guess.

Looks like , E minor 7th .. B minor 7th .. C major 7th

These will be at a good discount soon. These tall narrow frets are not going to sell very well. they are okay and you could get used to em but most of us play several different guitars. I for one don't want one that feels that much different than all of my others. Radius and body style are one thing but this is a pretty big difference. I like mine medium Jumbo's. They should at least make it optional

250k pots. The double tap humbucker is also made for 250k.

@Patrick Gesner dual concentric 250/500k pot 250 from singles and 500 for humbucker. There is a diagramm in fender's web site showing that.

1:01 high e string is almost out of the fretboard!

Very nice demonstration. I really love the new colors Fender put out, but I didn't like the sound of the pickups in any video so far. Pickups sound very dull to me. Good thing they can be swapped then 😊

One of the darkest strats I have heard, the tone on the od808 was nearly on full and the guitar still sounded dark. Not impressed by that guitar at all

Compared to the SSS version, HSS gives you the humbucker, but is there a price to the trade-off? Do you lose anything essentially Stratoesque?
