Female Guinea Keet "Buck Wheat" Call

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

For those of you curious what sound a FEMALE guinea makes (so you can tell them apart from your males) here it is. :0) This is a twelve week old guinea hen voicing her opinion. She is joined by several other guineas, chickens, and ducks.

I have at some point owned basically every farm bird besides ostriches and emus, and these win the nosiest bird award hands down, no contest. Every other bird either isn't noisy, only only make noises periodically. Guineas are incessant with their noise.

I have to agree with you. LOL! They DO go through a period of time each early spring where they are ESPECIALLY noisy, and do quiet down some after they begin laying. But they are pretty noisy - especially the females, and especially when something or someone is on the property that shouldn't be. Thank you for taking the time to watch and to leave a comment. I love that you have owned such a variety of birds. Me, too! And, no. No Emus or Ostrich. :)

They really are awesome. We used to have a tick problem on our property. No more. They are excellent at cleaning out the ticks and other bugs. I have also witnessed them eating stink bugs. YAY! The guineas here belong to our special needs daughter. She LOVES them and takes care of them. Of all the birds here, they are her absolute favorites. On the rare occasion we sell them, she gets the profits. It is nice all the way around. Thank you for taking the time to watch and to leave a comment. I truly appreciate it. Every like, comment, share, and subscription supports this little channel. THANK YOU!

I had several white female guineas and they would say, “Come back, come back!” Now, I have gray male ones and they just screech.

What birds are those two light, silvery gray chickens? Are they some variation of araucana?

She's pretty big for her age. I like that one who has a white chest and looks like a pearl grey on top. I was told that something like 30% of all guinea keets hatched are 'pearl grey.'

salut! Merci d'avoir regardé! La guinée femelle émettra un son comme "BUCK WHEAT! BUCK WHEAT!" La marque fera plus d'un claquement. Presque comme une mitrailleuse. C'est UNE syllabe et non deux.

Hello! Thanks for your interest and takiing the time to watch and comment! The males make more of a squawking sound, if that helps. If you mean do I have any for sale. Not at this time. We generally get eggs beginning in April and set all that are laid. Usually we have keets available for sale May through August. :)
