female back up singers in pow wows project

Музыка

This video was for my friday's class project. Today's project actually (AND FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! I received my information from my mother (much respect to the elders))
Anyways, this is mainly about the female back up singers in pow wows that I found. They are very talented and don't get as much recognition as the male singers (in my opinion) So I decided to do a project about them. I got them all from youtube. :) Let me know what you think

I didn't say it was factual information, nor did I sell out my own culture for my own pleasure or anything. I got all of my information from my mom who was a female back up singer in ceremonies and many powwows throughout California. And I did get an A for this project and I'm proud of it. But thank you anyways :)

So apparently I'm getting a lot of like, "wrong information" comments and such from this video and I'm sorry. If you read my information placed in the info section, I received the information from my mother who was a back up singer throughout many powwows in the state of California. So no disrespect to whatever I have written in the video, but its from my mom who is a highly respected elder.

The person who commented or criticized your effort for having "wrong information" is in fact wrong him or herself. Not all tribes believe the drum came from a woman. Where I'm from it came from the Thunder Beings, and as such a woman cannot touch it, let alone sit at the drum like a man, due to the power of the female cycle, and this applies even when not in "cycle" (Im trying to be respectful)l. Of course they can sing as back up singers, and no they don't need an "invitation" to do so.

Woman standing behind the drum . Sounds like the women knew what they was doing back in the day... ..they knew their place . Instead of making up some bullshit story . Women were never allowed at the drum. That's the man's place
