Just a little tutorial for those who have asked about my felted dreadies. It's super simple, all you need is a little bit of roving, soapy water, three noisy kids, and a bit of patience!

Do you rinse the soapy water out when you are done?

There's not a lot of soap in the water, just enough to lather it up, so when it dries you don't really notice it :) If you like, put a few in on the day you are going to wash your hair anyway and just rinse it all out together!

The most interesting part was that it was so easy to remove! I was afraid it was totally permanent.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to be so easy to remove the first time either, but because its putting a layer over the top, and not actually pushing the fibers into the dread (As some do, with a needle or hook), then it's basically just dressing up the dread in some clothes ;)

A little late for us to see this, sorry Michelle :) There are lots of stores on Etsy selling wool! We source ours only from those who are Cruelty free wool suppliers.

would it stay in without the yarn on top? do you need to use a felting needle a bit to hold it down?
