@@Tiglath-PileserXIX I was there too, Felix Potvin was awesome and the Leafs still would have been playoff contenders with Potvin as starter. However, at that particular time in the NHL the best goalie was Curtis Joseph and he also wanted to play for the Leafs, and for no real cost because he was a free agent. So if you're the general manager do you actually say no to Cujo? Of course not, unless you're not familiar with how sports works, so why describe that normal logical decision as "they threw him under the bus?"

Leafs has no structure. Guys don’t go hard digging for the puck. Those corner battles is what makes playoff hockey that much more driven for some.

Years ago in the 1940 s and 50 s there was Emil The Cat Francis ,coached the reangers in the 1970s!

They needed to draft a top goaltender years ago. This team's offensive talent combined with a top goaltender could actually do something. That is, if they didn't already sign 4 forwards for over $10 million a year 😊 They are screwed. Need to rebuild.

@@leeham6230 - they had Rask and let him go. They also gave up on Freddy Andersen. Andersen has the best leafs record as a goalie in a single season. The leafs had goalies.

Maybe the Leafs should sign Felix again.

I’m beginning to wonder if JD truly has an appreciation for how teams are historically built for success in the playoffs. I think his fanboy glasses distort his ability to firmly grasp the fact, that not team ever built like the Leafs, has ever won a Cup. This doesn’t seem to register with him. If it did, he v wouldn’t keep setting himself up for disappointment.

As a leafs fan this team is a joke looks like they just want to go golfing

THAT was a goalie. FELIX!!!!!!! Clark and Gilmour played with broken bones, sore everything, teeth knocked out….. now? Um…… soft.

It's great watching the Leafs fail and Matthews not showing up(in the case of game 5 most likely LITERALLY) in the playoffs AGAIN. After all the fawning from the Toronto media complex all season about Matthews scoring 70 and then for him both not to do it and then become snake bitten AGAIN in the playoffs is just tooo funny hahahaha. Cope you Leafoids.

Got to get a hot one from your goalie. I'm a Ranger fan and we play hyperactive hockey, but we also stuck to the structure against the Caps. Your guys are running around, trying too hard. Look at the Stars, they were getting picked off the the n-zone and countered on. But last night , they got it in deep and went to cycle. It's all about structure and adjustments. The Leafs are fighting against themselves.🏒❤️🥂
