Well, when you look their H2H, the first time they met in 2022, Felix was only 15 years old, and he won the first set. Lats year was a clean 3-0, 11-7/11-6/11-6. This time the level was incredible but again Felix is definitely having the game to counter Yun-Ju. Interesting games to see anyway!

These videos would look better if the camera zoomed in a bit. I don't need to see all that space behind the players, unless they are backing away from the table. Also bringing the camera closer to the floor would be better as it would let the viewer get a better sense of the balls vertical movements. Having said that, instead of this side view (or an end view) an even better place for the camera would be a "3/4 view", where the camera is placed between the two locations.

french top players are really young, yet they both already beaten the best asian players. Of course they still have a lot to learn, but their potential is unmatched. In a few years they will reach a level that has never been seen in this sport, and you know why? because their mindset is very different. They are powered by love, not only by hard work like Chinese players. China can make good machine players, but this guys are deeply human in their way of playing. They enjoy life, they enjoy what they do, they have personality. They are gonna show the entire world that if you want to be the best, you have to embrasse your entire self, only when you do that you can reach new heights.

Interesting comment. In an interview, we hear the coach of the Lebrun brothers talking about tactics and heart. He says that tactics alone are not enough. That in moments of extreme tension, it's no longer just about table tennis. It surpasses the sporting aspect. The brothers are fortunate to be well supported, and personally knowing Alexis, they are simple and humble guys. It's the very definition of charisma: being comfortable in one's own skin. And this could lead them to great heights.

I don't think so. Your supposed asian world doesn't exist in table tennis. There is China and/versus the others. It is even very possible that China is happy of Taipei/taiwan defeat. South Korea and Japan are very different from China in their way of approaching competition sports. You may consider them as "western" countries. Hong Kong, Singapor and Taipei I don't know. North Korea has disappered, and there is no other big countries (in men's ranking) 😊

i can't believe i'm saying this but: Lin's forehand is relatively quite mediocre in the pro scene. of course it's 1000x better than mine. but the point is that his forehand technique is very different from the Chinese team and even the other top forehands in the world. i think his super fast racket is forcing him to play a game where he needs to win quick attacking points. but the modern game doesn't favor his style. the modern game favors consistency, which he does NOT have, especially on his forehand side.

I hope everyone stops watching WTT coverage using that horrible, unwatchable side of table angle. Maybe then, WTT will listen to us and stop using it. Can you imagine if Waldners career was shot this way...if that was how we all looked back at decades of his play? WTT doesn't care how much they are hurting the sport and angering fans-viewers as long as they can make a little extra $ with maybe 2 extra adds visable from side angle. Everything was great before WTT was forced on us. Before WTT, host broadcasters cared about professional presentation of the sport.
