Thank you for liking the mv and the song! I think Felip is really expressing his true feelings in this song. Because he is the one among the 5 boys who experienced being looked down and laugh at esp during thier early days! Him being naive and innocent and an introvert who just come from the province! He is a perfect target to those bullies and vultures out there! I really felt sad for him, that's why his loyal supporters will always love and support him!

He has strong personality naman, so he could take bullies down. I think the one who was most bullied and was most vulnerable was Stell, Pablo said that himself. Anyway, di naman to contest. They all faced being mocked and insulted but look at them now, flourishing. ❤ I think this song talks more about fake friends and relatives who were leeching on him when he got big. But I hope he feels how loved he is now, not just because he is getting bigger but because we knew him as Ken, the baby, honest, no filter but has a good heart.

I really like how you point out various technical aspects of the craft and work, as much as I enjoy your take on the meaning, emotions and story that "Fake Faces" expresses. Some reactor-reviewers seem to view singers solely as entertainers or performers. Those reactors may simply be unaware of the artist's background, or they might purposely avoid becoming personally connected. For me, though, knowing the context is so important in appreciating a song. On the other hand, many reactors tend to fangirl/fanboy, which at times can get ... (uh, I'm grasping to find a fair word) ... adulatory, maybe. The viewer mostly just gets to re-watch the MV/performance and not much is added to the conversation. Nothing wrong with those perspectives; "different strokes" and "YMMV". For me, your take has the right balance. I get to check in with a person who offers insights as a music professional, an artist, and as a fan -- you have cred in all three! I also learn from the variety of singers you review. I'm pleased and thankful to watch that you follow Filipino singers -- not least, the guys of SB19 -- on their journeys. Coach everything you said about haters is true however sometimes i just cant avoid getting emotional and get affected when people esp my fellow filo cant stop bashing them. Felip said this is actually a ….. forgot the word…but something like a prequel to Complex and Kanako, depicting his morose feelings then. Kanako is like his redemption song, expressing his gratitude towards those who supported him. 😊
