Feline Coronavirus is not dangerous to other animals or people, so not connected to the virus that is in the news at the moment (Feb 2019).
But Feline Coronavirus is a common and contagious virus, especially prevalent in multi-cat households.
Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) can also mutate into the much more serious and fatal Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FiV).

My cat was diagnosed with feline coronavirus when he was 1 years old, the vet said he wouldn't live and we'd have to schedule to put him down, I cried and cried. Anyways he's 16 now and he still parties all night and sleeps all day.

@@optimuscunt7746 I'm not a doctor! We didn't do anything, we just let him go play outside in the sunshine and chase bugs and eat grass
I lost a cat to fip💔 her abdomen was full of fluid.. I couldn't save her.. I had to put her down after 10 days of suffering going daily to the hospital.. She stopped eating the last 3 days💔 I've never cried that hard over a rescue.. She was so beautiful.. I rescued her from a breeder that was going to dump her because she had radial hypoplasia

@@relaxmycat I thought she was a male at first.. I named her Maui.. I didn't change her name even after I found out she was a female.. She was very playful regardless of her condition.. Her sister had the same condition.. Radial hypoplasia but in both front limbs.. She got adopted in the states (I am a Kuwait based rescuer). the last few days of her life she stayed in my lap the whole time💔

Awww that's sad my cat died she got ran over she was alive for a few days but sadly died I have a little story for you to Make you feel better wene we got her we named her prince we thought she was a boy then after 3 years she had kittens we had to give her kittens away sadly but for the best then she got ran over 😭😭

@@meshi_vlogs there are no specific symptoms and it could go undetected all their lives as 94% of cats have it.. But not all of them becomes FIP.. Usually it's common in a household that has multiple cats

Yes, FCoV causes FIP, not FIV
My cat was diagnosed of Feline corona a year ago when he was 5 months old. He does not have any symptoms till to date. After how long will it be cleared?

I have a cat that has megacolon and chronic constipation. if she got diarrhea for a couple days that would be great.. not so much for my other cats though. .

My cat is an indoor cat and we feed her regularly. She is a 7 year old and we think she will be okay. Sadly we don’t really know her backstory so I don’t know what will happen. We know that she didn’t have any other cats when we got her and she was a street rescue. We assumed she had an owner at that point

my cat houdini has a very mild case of it, sometimes he wheezes tho. I have 4 in total, but he's the only one that seems infected

My 6 week old kitten got diagnosed with fib and is very skinny, we have to IV him every now and then to help him maintain weight. The vet said there is nothing they can do but just wait and pray he survives. He is apparently supposed to be at double his weight rn.

I’m scared because my cat is sick..he is normally healthy and he was born on September 11, 2018 , So he is not very old. He has vomited lately and I’m very worried about him. Pray for my kitty Harvey! He is super fluffy and sweet and I’m very worried about him...

can a healthy cat and a cat with the virus be kept together? who has experience? How long do cats with the virus live?

Feline coronavirus is transmitted through faeces so keeping a healthy cat and an infected cat together is not the best idea. It's highly likely that the healthy cat will become infected if housed together and they share toileting and eating spaces. You can get the symptoms of feline c0ronavirus treated at the vet, which you should do as soon as possible.
I lost a six month old kitten to FIP.

Kitten left their paw prints on your heart and even though they passed over the Rainbow Bridge, they’ll live on in your heart with the good memories of your time together, even though it was too short. I’m sure Kitten had the best possible life while they were with you. Rest In Peace little Furbaby.

I did too, lost 2 kittens when they were just a few months old. It migrated into FIP :(
I lost :( 2 cats from fip at very young age one was 4 months and another was 8 months i have a cat that has feline coronavirus i dont know from where she got apparently her mom didnt had it and her sister the doctor was confused and related it due to their strong immunity system maybe 🤷🏻♀️ as the vets them selfs dont have much information about this virus sadly i lost 2 cats from virus that later on developed into fip what about they are my community cats that i take care of them they always stay at my front yard sometimes go take a round and come back to my home

My kitten is 7months and he’s diagnosed with the corona virus They told me to put him down but dont want too can you help on maybe telling me what I can possibly do
My cats just got diagnosed with FCoV😞 This was through random testing as I took 1 for a check up, no symptoms whatsoever. My vet said feline coronavirus is the same as FIP?? Is it 100% that this will mutate into FIP and what else can I do apart for regular vet visits to prevent it from mutating?
