As a wooodworker who was apprenticed under my father, when he said " get quality tools, take good care of them" that resonated with me deeply. Your tools matter, but you should be able to do the job to the standard your craft demands without the best tools but damn does it help to have good tools.

Nice video, a thumbs up. But might suggest a pair of clippers for that wily mullet :)

@huffyoga The Felco pruner has the advantage of the cam in the handle, the tool steel anvil and sheer, and the cushioned stop to prevent fatigue. Worth the money! Best source I've found is Bishop's Arborist Supply in Whittier CA. The corona is a quality tool, and affordable; however, the felco pruner is high-end professional.

That's bad ass sharp..But how long would it last that sharp? i'm a farmer and do seriously a lot of pruning when attending my chilli trees. I used to have a lot of stainless seel pruners but now i only stick with high carbon steel pruners (my favourite one is corona). They are stronger and easy to sharpen. the catch is that they rust easily and i have to oil them daily.

Where do you get this tool? The best I used to fine were the Corona shears. How does this compare to the anvil shears?

What's your opinion on the Felco 2 and do you feel that it's worth the extra money for someone on a budget?

I cannot argue with the idea of putting price-before-performance. We all have budgets; however, I use a Felco2 eight hours a day as a golf course groundskeeper, clean the Felco cutting assembly between cutting species with isopropanol alcohol. I have used the same Felco2 for 15 years, sharpening the blades, lubricating the unit. Do the math. Divide the cost of the Felco2 by, say, 10 years plus an occasional blade or lubricant and you have the true cost of ownership. The real issue is performance and quality. This is a professional tool. I would also suggest in buying a Felco holster and getting in the habit of never setting the Felco down, period. When you earn your living with a tool, the math makes sense.

KUKER double cut shear is much better than any Felco. That's my opinion.

You can get excellent quality from other countries. I usually try to buy from longstanding manufacturers that I know hires people and pays a fair wage. That cuts out a lot of countries though.
