I am a Celt and my people were here ten thousand years before the English came to these islands, this makes me realise our wonderful culture and tradition ,and language that we have retained, the Scots ,the Welsh ,the Irish ,the Cornish and the Northumbrians.Let’s hope Michael and his wonderful dancers keep the Celtic flame alive.

Go while you are young. Don’t wait until later. It will impact your understanding of history and your studies in general to see this part of the world, her people, and deep past. Start saving and go as soon as possible. Don’t miss the northern parts of the UK. Some of the most ancient artifacts of the Norse invasions and the influence of Viking culture have been found there. You will never forget such a trip!

I don't know why, but the real reason I watch this is just to hear the tapping of the shoes. It just has its own rythm and fits so nicely with the music, like a duet.

So pleased this came up on my recommended list. I took my late Mum to see Lord of the Dance in Manchester in 2002 or 2003. One of those treats for a lady in her 80s. We stayed overnight in a hotel which again was unusual for her. I’ll never forget the look on her face, she was fascinated as was I. Precious memories

I dont know how people can watch and listen to this beautiful mad music and not want to leap.for joy. Always wanted to be a dancer never got the chance! I love the whole of it music dancing costumes etc. English folk can be quite boring in comparrison...although not all. What people also never see when watching all this wonderful production is all the hours mainly mothers of these dancers all spent taking their children dancing!! Without which none of this would be possible.

I'm astounded by the comments about Michael Flatley re his ego bad dancing etc etc who do you think trains all of these lovely dancers to be absolutely step perfect time and time again despite painful leg and ankle injuries having to stand in dustbins full of ice water after the shows to get the swealings down, The man is a genius and seriously fit to be able to do this dancing show after show all around the world, to the complainers can you dance like that I know I couldn't I was there that night with my wife and it was one of the most stunning performance I've ever seen.

the only people that have anything negative to say about Mr. Flatley, do so, because theyre petty, jealous, or are having androgynous feelings about him, and it fucks with their inner machismo bullshit. Flatley is an astounding, remarkable human being and badass, an exceptional artist for all time, ...and the wet dream of millions of women... to be that talented, good looking, and fit, must be awesome..

I still find it mad to think that most of these dancers are in their late teens, during this performance, I've just entered my 20's and been dancing from a child, and only feel like I'm confidently at this level now, even though I'm irish born and bred with a father who was a champion dancer, which meant extra practice as a child I feel like I got better when I left competition and started doing it to keep my fitness up and for fun, it surprisingly surpresses my asthma, this will always be my inspiration, Bernadette Flynn and Gillian Norris are amazing athletes to me as a female, I will never forget my first time seeing this, I just fell in love

Among the most powerful empires in the world have tried to take down the Celts, but they have never been able to, because we Celts know that true enduring power is not in swords and guns, but in the hearts of the people as expressed communally through the arts and our attachment to the foundation of our sacred lands. That is a power that continues unabated, and it can never be stolen from us, or starved out of us, or propagandized out of us or imprisoned. Celtic art, Celtic dance, Celtic music, Celtic poetry, Celtic theater, the cultures that tried to destroy us have nothing to rival the power and survival of our voices at the crossroads. (There's no "Roman section" in music stores, but every western music story has its Celtic music section.) We endure because we dance.

I'm American, but considered a half breed; Irish-German descent. Michael Flatley rules! And I'm very proud of my Irish blood. I LOOK Irish! I'm short, I have hazel eyes with lots of green and amber, my hair is dark blonde with a lot of red, my skin is white as white can be and I can't tan to save my life, and I'm fine boned and have the high cheekbones of my Celtic ancestors. I guess you could say I'm Viking Irish. Now, a very good friend of mine, he's Irish-Russian.(ikr?) He's a whole foot taller than I am, bit I wouldn't say he's big boned like the Slavs. He looks like a Pict. He has black hair, and the same hazel eyes I have. His skin is just as pale as mine and he can't tan, either! We're not related, but everyone thinks we're brother and sister, because our Irish traits make us look so much alike. We think it's pretty funny!

Michael is on a whole other level! Beautiful dreamer! Thank you for Riverdance!
What I wouldn't give to be able to see a show like this in 2023. Or even later on. Just listening to it at work or throughout the day gets me pumped. I love this so much.
Goosebumps ...if THIS doesn't touch you ...I don't know.....wow. Indeed FOREVER DANCING IN OUR HEARTS!
Man oh man to have seen this live…
the music, the dance, the smile and the performance all bring joy to anyones life
8:20 there's always some stoic in the middle of the crowd totally unmoved 🤣🤣🤣 How that is possible in the midst of such a stunning performance, I cannot fathom! Then again to each his own... 😃
He's a brilliant brilliant dancer and I will never tire of watch them all dance. I wish to God that I was fit enough to do this. I have the first video of Riverdance, I remember watching it with my grandson when he was a toddler and he was just mesmerized by the dancing. 🙏🏻❤️
I'm Irish and Micheal Flatley is the best irish American dancer he is super talented and his feet are so fast and the taps sound incredible.Hats off to Micheal for giving us Riverdance and Fleet of Flames and Celtic Tiger.
The dancers are the glitter bits the fairy girl sprinkled 😍🤩
Every so often someone extraordinary makes an appearance in our lives and Michael Flatley was such a person. He was brilliant and a talented showman. Imagine the hours of choreographing these shows to the perfection they were. He had the dream and brought it to life. To his critics I say ... your puny remarks are as nothing compared to the thousands of people who enjoyed his shows. I wish I.had been one of them.
Can never see his shows too many times! Have seen LOTD 3 times but unfortunately after Michael retired 😥. Still just as amazing, mesmerizing, heart stopping and beautiful. Bucket list to see one more time ❤️

I Love this Show 👍😍1998 🙋♀️🕺
I'm astounded by the comments about Michael Flatley re his ego bad dancing etc etc who do you think trains all of these lovely dancers to be absolutely step perfect time and time again despite painful leg and ankle injuries having to stand in dustbins full of ice water after the shows to get the swealings down, The man is a genius and seriously fit to be able to do this dancing show after show all around the world, to the complainers can you dance like that I know I couldn't I was there that night with my wife and it was one of the most stunning performance I've ever seen.

Linnaeus When I was growing up in Boston In the 50’s, Irish step dancing groups were common. Many schools had a “team”. But it was always girls...
I had the honor and privilege of seeing Riverdance in Louisville Kentucky 10 years ago. I was taken to a new Realm that left me forever changed. Proud of my Irish heritage ☘️

Oh how I've missed you Michael you are my favorite movie still
Among the most powerful empires in the world have tried to take down the Celts, but they have never been able to, because we Celts know that true enduring power is not in swords and guns, but in the hearts of the people as expressed communally through the arts and our attachment to the foundation of our sacred lands. (There's no "Roman section" in music stores, but every western music story has its Celtic music section.) We endure because we dance.
for a few moments i felt like i'm there, among that crowd, my heart was full of joy.
That entrance....Wow!
Best thing I've ever seen live, Lord of the dance
Wooow only amazing things, the dancers sometimes move like floating in the air, of course the music, is not only the dance, but the way they present it, of course, and even the cameras are perfectly coreographed, very impressed and grateful, cheers from Costa Rica, best wishes to Ireland and to the modern dancing celts 😊
I am 36% Scottish DNA and this just screams to my blood.
