The song has been identified! Thanks to efforts from discord user 'SkrrTey', who first pointed us to Edde Edman, we have now had confirmation and proof from William Paiva. William happened to have a copy of the full song (with the missing intro and outro) on a tape that he'd had for 30 or so years. William digitised the tape and uploaded it to KZread on 13th December 2023. He confirmed that Edde Edman was the composer/producer, and that André Nóbrega was the vocalist. The artists referred to themselves as "Station K" , and the song is called "Feels Like a Wish".

This song was originally recorded from Transamerica FM in Brazil in 1991-1993, by a user called gsipkoi. We initially only had a 30 second sample of the song, which I previously covered and interpreted myself into a full song. Not long after, the full version of the original song was found. I have since had multiple requests to cover the whole song, and have finally got around to doing it! Artist information is still unknown, so please do let me know if you recognise this song or the original, or have any information that might help identify it.
