I lost my husband of 35 years just 7 weeks ago, finding your podcast has been a blessing and encouragement to me. I thought there was something wrong with me for grieving so deeply for him. All I am told by family is to take off the rings and move on, or what did you expect him to live forever. My husband was my rock and was always there for me even as sick as he was. I am now facing being totally alone for the first time in my life. I have lost both my parents and a brother that I was very close to, but I have to say that the loss of my husband has been a kick in the gut that I can't get over, I have never felt this kid of pain before. The Bible states that a couple becomes one when they get married, that is so true I feel as if I lost part of myself. I read a quote in a book that has resonated with me "Our Love is more that that of this world it's Soul to Soul." You Pod Cast are helping me move through the pain day by day even just one hour at a time. Keep it up THANK YOU.

Thank you!My name is Karen, too. I lost my husband, best friend and lover of 40 years 13 years ago, and I have experienced all these feelings except relief. He died suddenly in his sleep at age 61. We were planning an early retirement and we were going to travel ( finally) after putting it off for years.

Thank you so much for the comment on relief!!! Very comforting. My husband died of leukemia three months ago and I anticipated the relief when he would finally pass, especially at the very end. It most definitely didn't and doesn't mean that I'm relieved he died, just relieved for him and myself that that part of the struggle is over. Thank you. God bless you

thank you Karen-I have had much help from your episodes. I am accostumed to grief as I lost my son 10 years ago..that is living hell...ripped my core out..I have been repairing myself gradually. My husband passed nearly 3 months ago . I have to say that my experience is that I am a burden as a widow . After the initial condolences I have been 'dropped'..I certainly don't have anyone to cry with and hold my hand . I am hoping to find my 'community' with a grief group and counselling ....my friends and family are not local to me. ...I am aware I need to create my future life .

My boss told me after the funeral everything would get back to normal. That I would be able to miraculously sleep in my room again.
