Jinx actually DENY being crazy. And it is implied that she specifically draws the line at cannibalism in the animated series when she said she isn't crazy enough to serve someone's head for dinner. Now that i read some more of her background, i would give Briar a break. She is a synthetic life form and technically never human, so it is unfair to call her a cannibal. And she was never meant to have any humanity at all, she self-taught everything that she knows about how to act like a human. So she didn't have humanity to lose, she never had any to start with. Instead she is a true monster who none the less is interesting in being a part of society. And is doing her best to figure out how to be human.

She was created by the Black Rose as a living weapon but since she was always in her frenzy mode they considered her a failure, in her final mission (which she failed) they gave her the pillory (the giant thing she has on) but was captured by Swain's forces and put into jail. The pillory gave her control over her own mind so now she wants to live and discover the world. And drink blood. Also she is in a way the daughter of Leblanc and Swain. I love her so much already

It literally reminds me of tai lung because she somehow escapes even with all the restraints keeping her completely immobilized she still escapes a heavily guarded facility

This reminded me a lot of Nimona, a movie that I absolutely loved!! I love the style chosen for this and Legends of Runeterra cinematics too. The Arcane look is truly gorgeous.

I get what you mean, they could have gone harder on the horror/monster inspirations for sure... Though your comparisons just made me realize, maybe Briar is meant to be read as a sort of reverse Jinx? For instance, Jinx was born human, and through a combination of her own destructive nature and upbringing ended up as a psychopathic terrorist-- one who actively harmed her own friends and family and embraced her self-sabotage. Briar, on the other hand, was born a monster, and in the devlogs it is stated that she not only acknowledges her roots, but knows that she can be MORE than that. She wants an identity that isn't just "hungry monster", she's looking out for other things she's interested in, and as shown in the cinematic, she's capable of sparing lives (thanks to the pillory restraining her just in time LOL, I digress). I dunno, I just feel like it's a neat thematic parallel you just pointed out. Jinx could represent ruin, and Briar (literally named after a type of rose shrub) could represent growth. Two different types of monsters!

the animation was amazing, glad to see more work done by the league team, its been such a while they haven't teased stuff like that with great animations and art, although i feel the gore part quite necessary for this champ, to feel the psycho part and how scary she is and mostly to bring back that mature part of league

She makes me think of Gorillaz, and that's a compliment. Excited for her😍❤️
