The compact design of this Feed Tap Drilling Machine, with a separate, independent feed control for advancing the heavy-duty shell cutter into the pipe, allows the user to easily complete the tap using a drill (not included) for cast and ductile iron, or manual power (7/16” wrench) for PVC/PE and other plastic pipe. The independent feed control advances the shell cutter for tapping PVC pipe as recommended by Uni-Bell PVC Pipe Association.
FTB Feed Tap consists of the base unit which allows the user to purchase shell cutters and corporation adapters separately, as needed. A complete kit is sold as FT2000UNIV. The kit contains both a coupon retaining drill bit, CRPD25 and two sets of coupon retaining magnets. The magnets work well on ductile iron taps and the CRPD25 bit works on all types of pipe taps. The retaining method used is up to the individual operator.
Plastic Pipe only FTP200UNIV is used for manual drilling operations using Reed’ s proven PE/PVC "PL series" shell cutters. The FTP2000UNIV comes complete with all corporation adapters, shell cutters, shell cutter adapters, and a ratchet wrench with socket to cover ¾” to 2” services in PVC and PE. Each machine ships with a sturdy carrying case.

Laura Sole, what ppe would you approve of? I only ask because the application will differ between product demo and field use. It always does, and always will.

Please do demo repair 🙏 The shaft is sliding all the way down and all the way back up without turning the black cylinder.

Figured it out the 1 1/2 inch tension pin broke on the top of the shaft, either way a video would be nice for anyone running into the same issue.

The magnet will hold the cuttings in a lengthwise orientation that maximizes the chance of getting them embedded in the skin, meanwhile your demonstration shows someone grasping the magnet with bare skin, not covering their fingers with any PPE.

You're right - our operator in the demo should have worn close-fitting jobs. We have added PPE recommendations to our user manual.
