Feed Line Problems

In this one Tork & Sawyer fix the major problems going on with the feed lines up at site 3.
Welcome to it! This’ll Do Farm is a 6th generation family farm located in Southeast Iowa that is run by a father-son duo Tork and Sawyer. Sawyer and Tork are the force behind their family farm taking care of pigs, along with farming the family’s acres. Together, they promote agriculture in a positive light by recording their day-to-day life’s on the farm. Both Tork and Sawyer have a burning desire to grow the farm bigger and bigger and hope to showcase to the world what it takes to be a farmer. Come along for the ride!

I haul feed 5-6 days a week for Country View Farms. The hog growers for Clemmons Food Group here in Indiana. We run 2 shifts 5:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. and 5:00p.m. to 5:00 a.m. I run the late night shift. Went to unload one night into some feed bins. Walked up to the bin and about 8ft of that feed screw was laying on the ground. Called my boss and let him know. Said don't worry about it. Fun time is when it runs 20ft up into the feed bin! We are not suppose to climb the bins if a lid doesn't shut but, I do just because I don't want rain or anything else in the bins. Love watching your videos. Any time the curtains are down I always look in on the pigs. We are #11 in the 2021 Pork Powerhouse ratings. You guys do a great job. I know some of these farms the pigs don't see a human for weeks at a time.

I work for tosh farms in Tennessee and i can appreciate you going the extra mile to close the feed bins. Our drivers are not to climb bins either. Wet feed is no fun at all. It is also not good for the animals as it eventually molds.

Know your pain. We had 32 rows of of feeder chains 360 foot long in our chicken houses. Then you have the augurs filling up the hoppers. Something needed to be worked on all the time. Retired now but I do miss those days.
