FedEx commercial with John Moschitta
Ойын-сауық
John Moschitta is the fast talking guy most people don't know the name of. This FedEx commercial is what made him famous.
This is one of the many good ads to come from Sedelmaier, who also produced the Where's the Beef ads.

Brilliant ad! And effective, too. I first saw this in high school; six years later, at my first real job, when I needed to send something overnight, I immediately thought of FedEx thanks to this commercial. I teach an advertising class at a community college. Now, I can actually show my students this commercial instead of just tell them about it.

I can't believe that the guy can talk so fast. Then again, he IS the voice of Blurr from Transformers, both G1 and Animated. I love how everyone was talking so fast in this commercial, not just Mr. Moschitta. XD
I remember when this commercial originally aired. Brilliant, kudos to the creators at Sedelmaier, and to John Moschitta, Jr (who was about 27 years old at the time) as the fast-talking executive!
So many little details that make this commercial so wonderful wonderful wonderful. The repetitions & alliterations (especially on the P's and D's), that smooth camera pan in the secretary's office, and the way John keeps his facial expressions fixed. Particularly in that last scene where his eyes look like they're locked & almost rolled into the back of his skull, while his fingers manically manipulate the phone buttons. They were really such small movements, but the robotic delivery & deliberate stabbing of the buttons make his movements look so much larger.
The handshake at 0:09 is the BEST part!
Still one of the greatest ads ever.
I have watch this for like the thousandth time and I am still not bored

Brings back memories I was 7 when this commercial came out and it's still funny.
This commercial for a present mail company starring the world’s fastest talker John Moschitta, Jr., back in 1981. The signature line “Okay, Eunice travel plans, I need to be in New York on Monday, LA on Tuesday, New York on Wednesday, LA on Thursday & New York on Friday, got it?” was widely imitated and became part of the American lexicon in the early 1980s. Mr. Moschitta, Jr., lived in the Southern California area and continued to act in national commercials.

It wouldn't mean anything to people without context. Federal Express implies across the country fast (which was revolutionary for the time). After everyone knew what they did, FedEx made sense. The most awarded tv commercial in history
I went to pick up a parcel from my local FedEx yesterday. As I sat waiting for my parcel I was secretly hoping for John Moschitta to come out the door and fire off a quick monologue at me xD
Joe Settlemeyer . . . one of the greatest commercial directors ever.
Unlike the modern world records for fast talking, each and every word spoken by John is legible.
Don't worry, it can be confusing and difficult, but it's worth it in the end to be good at speaking English. This guy is famous for his incomprehensible talking, especially in his micro machine commercials. John Moschitta Jr. held the Guinness World Record for being able to speak 586 words in a single minute, when the fast talking category was still around. If anyone can understand him or talk like him, they're pretty damn awesome.
