Federal Signal Thunderbolt 1000 Siren Test, Attack | Nebraska City, NE | 4/3/21
Wow.
I could really feel this one in my chest. I have been wanting to record this siren for a long time, and the previous time I tried recording it the county tested really late after I had left. The wait was worth it, I got 3 minutes of attack out of the deal.
Otoe County tests their sirens on the first Saturday of the Month at 10 AM.

Hey, guys, I know all about that siren because I lived in Nebraska back in the mid-1980's as a child and later in 2011. Nebraska City has maintained that Thunderbolt along with the many 2T22's wonderfully, and I love the sounds of those things going off in unison. It's a sound that screams literally at you to "get your ass on the ball because danger is close!"

Fun fact, that Thunderbolt is maintained by a 70-something-year-old man! He's supposedly the only one in SE Nebraska who still knows how to work on those things.

To be honest I am not sure. It likely is but I wouldn't put it past that it has a radio that activates it.
